Seahawks released DE Grant Wistrom.
You can't help but think that the Seahawks replaced one overpaid free agent mistake at defensive end with another in Patrick Kerney. Wistrom got $14 million guaranteed three years ago ,but struggled to stay healthy. He can still help a team, but may not be a starter. The Seahawks will count Wistrom as a "June 2nd" cut to spread out his cap hit. Bryce Fisher and Darrell Tapp are slated to play opposite Kerney.

Webb City guy. Maybe he would come home....could fill in nicely for the price.

I think he'd be a solid rotational guy in Denver...

He'd be the perfect guy to backup Allen while he serves his 4-game suspension.

I always liked that guy, real high motor. If he can stay healthy it wouldn't bad.

If Vermeil were still here, I'd say 100% probability.

I would call that a lead pipe cinch and he may even shed a tear.

He is 30 and has played 9 years.

He has also declined drastically the last few years. He could be a decent backup, but I'm sure he still wants more money than a backup deserves.

I guess it is all relative, it only seems like yesterday he was drafted by the Rams.

I think he would too. He and Kerney are similar players and we could get him for a lot cheaper...

I wasn't aware of that, did he get comfortable or just old like Mo said?

Winstrom is the poster child why you don't try to make a huge splash in the FA

I think Denver will pounce on him but if they don't he would be a good 4 game starting option and backup for the Chiefs.

Classified under "Season Ticket Helper." He's a draw. Best match for the Chiefs. And at the right price. Which would you rather have? Holmes or Wistrom? Methinks Gochiefs is right, and he could go another 4 games into the season.

Best news of all, we wouldn't have to cry for joy over the acquisition.

If we lose Allen, he's a solid plan B in my book.

I thought there was a new rule this year with the new collecitve bargaining agreement that you could cut a player before June 2nd and still spread out a guys cap hit over 2 years - no?
