Well, he wasn't a starter with the bears. And smallish? Compared to who?

James Reed

I don't get the smallish part, Mr. SNR.

Perhaps I'm overlooking something.

Even though he is older than Scott, he matched his production in 4 less games.

If nothing else he would be a decent backup/rotation DT.

I don't think SNR is talking about his body size, but his...well, you get it.

RealSNR

Wasn't Ryan Sims something like 330 or something? And as much of a fatass as he was, I'd hardly call him a behemoth run-clogging DT.

Maybe I'm just misguided. Hope we give this Boone guy a look anyway. Can't hurt.

I think they are wanting smaller, quicker DTs not behemoth run-clogging ones.

Hear he kilt a bear when he was only three ....

RealSNR
03-12-2007, 11:11 PM
Nevermind.

Damion McIntosh is currently our heaviest body at 328. Then we have Brian Waters at 320. Boone is 319, and the next guy closest to him after that is Mexican Willie Roaf Prunueda at 317.

That's if we sign him, of course. And obviously the numbers won't stay the same

Sounds solid.

Nice. Land him and Reed (as b/u) and then draft a DT with the first 3 and we should be primed to start kicking and name writitng...

I don't know...Herm seems to be pretty good at evaluating defensive talent. Maybe Chicagos back-ups are equal to, or greater than our starters on the line?

According to his bio on the Bears' website, he participated in a community-service project by joining teammates in giving needy families in Chicago turkeys. That's a hidden upside because Ryan Sims would have immediately swallowed the turkeys.

Big upgrade in size, I like it.

Wouldn't surprise me if Herm made the move here.

He's not The Answer, but let's face it, we're not getting The Answer this offseason at DT.

Lional Dalton Part II
why didn't we just keep Lional then?

BigChiefFan
03-13-2007, 11:12 AM
It's pretty sad that a FA back-up would come in and become our best DT, but his credentials sound better than anybody we have on the roster. If we can get him on the cheap, we should probably pull the trigger.

shaneo69
03-13-2007, 11:21 AM
why didn't we just keep Lional then?

Because coaches are idiots, and they don't believe that a player really sucks until that player actually sucks for that particular coach.

The coaches all think they can "coach 'em up".

Are you saying we should draft a DT with our first 3 draft picks? I don't agree with that at all because as much as we need a DT, we need a WR as well.

I think he means one with at least one of our first three picks.
