Until football season starts, then you're a basketball school.

I try to focus on chiefs football offseason moves, that takes a moment or two from my day, then it's on to just postwhoring.

Ask us in four years when we're going to our third straight tournament and Illinois is trying to win with mid-major talent at a Big Ten school.

What is Illinois going to do when it realizes that guys like Eric Gordon and John Scheyer will always say no to Weber?

LOL I'll be too busy celebrating the Chiefs' 3rd championship.

It depends on what day it is. Yesterday I looked through the Mizzou highlight thread, (which backfired horribly), and this evening I will be cheering for the Purple Eagles.

The only good thing about watching KU fans have so much fun in March, is knowing that in 2 weeks they will all go back into their holes until next winter. I love telling KU fans that because with the last 2 years of sub-par football and general attendance no longer the lowest in the Big 12, you get a lot of, "Hey I am a KU football fan to." To which I reply, "Really, name me 5 players on KU's football team." I have met one person, outside of sports forums, that claims to be a KU football fan and could name 5 players.

I like football and baseball, and that's pretty much it. I think I've attended three basketball games in my life, and had free tickets for one of them. The other two were Bulls games back in the Jordan era. And the last time I watched a basketball game on TV from start to finish was the last game of the Bulls' last championship, whenever the hell that was.

Sure it sucks that Missouri is so bad lately, but I really don't give a shit. I know college basketball is all you Gayhawk types have, and while I do sort of pity you for that (well, not really), I have better things to occupy my time. One of them is enjoying the actual professional championship that my baseball team is poised to defend (see avatar). Win any of those lately? Oops, I forgot - no real teams in Kansas. Darn the luck.

Have a nice day, loser.

It's sad what is happening to Illinois. Well, not really, but they will continue to slide IMO.

But, MU is recruiting the same type of talent - in some cases, lesser talent.

For the one open scholarship the Tigers have this season? Yes (BTW - the commit they have for this season also was being recruited by Oklahoma, Wake Forest, Va. Tech.), they didn't land a highly ranked kid. Although, from what Anderson has said lately, he's still on the trail for this season. Sounds like there's another juco he's zeroed in on (and he did pretty well with the last juco he brought in, didn't he, Saul?)

But let's talk about 2008, which is an entirely different story. Scott Suggs, Travis Releford, Dante Anderson, John Brandenburg, Andrew Steele, Jared Swopshire, Will Brown... those are the types of players Anderson is looking at.

And, as beating Bob Huggins in a head-to-head recruiting battle proves, Anderson can recruit. Something Bruce Weber still is trying to figure out.

I don't either - kU is the clear leader. But if they keep going after the White kid from Texas, it wouldn't surprise me to see Releford at Mizzou or K-State.

Anderson recruited Hannah (his Mom actually). Hannah signed a LOI to KSU and faxed it. It did not have his Mom's signature. She wanted him at MU, coached by a black man and role model. Which is a Mom's perogative.

So he signed a LOI to Mizzou and his Mom signed that one.
