So since Pats fans are interested that must mean the Pats organization must be working out a deal.

Can they afford another big signing like that? Kawika might not get top dollar, but he's not going to be cheap, either.

Knowing our luck he would go there and become real good.

Like Monty Beisel? The Pats have had bad luck with signing our former players...

Mitchell's a serviceable player.

He can help that franchise.

They thought they could make something out of Maszlowski and Beisel. I'm just glad he appears to be gone.

They signed Warfield, as well.

My guess is that Mitchell would be the first ex-Chief to work out for them, but I know I'm in the minority there.

why do we keep cutting our leading tacklers. Fugita now Mitchell is Harris even any better than Mitchell wasn't his tackles way lower

We now have Donnie Edwards to rack up meaningless tackle stats.

Rumor is we have about $7M give or take left under the cap, not coutning the $2M we need to sign rookies in the draft.

If I were NE, I would stay far, far away from KC free agents, based on recent history. :shake:

Sprinting past plays in the backfield? God, he's better at that than anybody else in the league. :banghead:

why do we keep cutting our leading tacklers. Fugita now Mitchell is Harris even any better than Mitchell wasn't his tackles way lowerThe number of tackles is a worthless stat. Maslowski always led in tackles and he was horrible.

If you really care about the Patriots cap status (which Id oubt, but just in case), this is from the awesome Miguel Salary Cap site:

"According to my figures the Patriots' 2007 cap figure is $104,617,190 with 66 players signed or presumed tendered. The salary cap is $109,134,000. The Patriots' adjusted cap is $113,005,580. Therefore, if my calcuations are correct, the Pats are under their adjusted cap by around $8.4 million. On 3/12 Peter King wrote that the Pats were under the cap by $7.7 million so my numbers are off by around $700,000. My numbers do NOT include the cap effect of the Kelley Washingtgon. Please note that the Pats will lose $436,800 in cap space once their offseason workout season program begins. Please note that on 6/2/2007 Dillon's 2007 dead money hit will drop from $4,422,500 to $1,922,500 and therefore, the Pats will gain $2.5 million in cap space with that move."

(every team's fan base needs a Miguel...)

Kawika has been decent for us recently. He'd be a good pickup for a lot of defenses.

Whenever I want to keep up with the Patriots, Giants, Colts, or Redskins, I just read Peter King. His articles almost always discuss 'em.

Kawika Mitchell might be a pretty good fit in a role with the Pats.

Asking him to be your MLB and trying to give him responsibility as a team leader is a bad fit.

But that's Gunt for you.

As long as you don't count on him being the team leader he is a good signing. It does seem to take him about a year to get comfortable in a style of D.
