Been a rough two days for the Big 12, but this should propel some of the mid-tier teams such as Mizzou, ISU, and possibly Baylor.

Wow, this is depressing... A&M was becoming a solid team and program in the big 12, I am sure Billy G will possible do well..

He will regret moving from a place where he was God, to a place if he doenst have a NC in 3 years they are going to be calling for his head...

Good luck Billy G, 3 years from now you will be looking for a obscure job just like Tubby...

You make it sound worst than what it is.......

Gillispie is a solid move up ........
Sampson is minimal at best .....
Williams went home, it was only a move up to him, basically a lateral move.At best, easier recruiting off the east coast.
Huggins ....... see Williams to NC. At best a slight move up due to the Big East Conf. Alot of talented schools to compete against.

Oh I have been paying attention, but dont forget about Colorados coach Patten to when somewhere in FL?

Lets not forget Quin Snyder... He left for greener pastures...

What about the Nebraska coach, where did he go before Sadler came in? Or what ever his name is?

Gillispie to Kentucky - of Course Leaving A&M for Kentucky is a step up..
Sampson to Indiana - Was going to be fired at OU for major infractions - Indiana took a chance on him.. So he didnt bolt from the Big 12
Williams to North Carolina - Well no brainer here, Lateral move, only Move Roy would make..
Huggins to West Virginia - This is a step up from KSU? I guess if you are talking the battles of the NIT, then yeah it is a step up?

Not everyone is using the Big 12 for moves to elite teams..

Wow, turn your TV off when you post, it clouds your mind with reality.

KU's history runs as deep as any college program in the country. As many here has posted before I could respond to your blonde momment, one doesn't have to look very far to see what KU Basketball means to the college basketball as a whole.History, players, coaches, wins, just about anything you want to look at.

Many colleges have their defining moments with sports, KU's is always in the top 5 of college basketball programs across the country.

No doubt KU has history. Yale has a very deep history in college football.
Care to tell me how you arrive at the conclusion KU is always top 5? Do you get those metrics from one of the polls or some other defnable source?

KU is definetely a top tier college hoops program but they are a level below NC when it comes to national championships and NCAA tourney performance. NC plays in a premier hoops conference that includes Duke. KU plays in a football conference. Outside of the fact you are a fan of KU how can you say the two programs are equal?

Heh... I cheer for all the Big XII teams, and Valley teams...

I am a NAIA Div 2 guy, I cheer for MNU (Mid America Nazarene, 03' Grad)

We won this year... All my friends were on the 00' team that lost in the final that year...

Do you honestly believe Kansas bb is on the same level as NC over the past 10 years?

Are you telling me that Florida is at the same or higher level as NC and Duke in the last 10 years because they have more championships, final 4 wins and more Championship appearances than them? (they lost to Michigan State in 2000)...

I was really asking Vail, but I didn't ask it directly.

Hey Vail, who is your favorite college basketball team ?

BTW carlos3652 ....... impressed with your stat ability.... Props on the work.

But I agree with Laz, make Vail do the research.

No, they haven't established sustained excellence plus college BB is extremely watered down now compared to the teams of the 80s and 90s.
KU, NC, Duke, Georgetown and many other schools fielded teams in the era when players stayed 3 or 4 years that would wipe the floor with the Florida team.
Florida's collebe b-ball team is much like their baseball team: won a championship or two fair and square but far from being included among the elite as an overall program.

Yeah, the emblem on the helmet in my avatar is the actual "hawk-eye", I think it was part of Hayden Fry's re-vamp when he came here.

Yes and if you want to respond to my comments in kind all you have to do is point out that the Hawks are no longer an elite or even dominant wrestling program. :banghead:

If I recall, Iowa use to be pretty solid in football, wrestling and basketball in the late 70's and 80's.

Sad but true. We only had one national champion this year and weren't even in the mix for the overall championship.
There are a lot of good young wrestling coaches out there now, some from the Gable tree included.
Parity is good for the sport but I miss the days when opponents were defeated the minute they saw Gable and his boys in black take the mat.

I never ever followed college wrestling at all, But I knew at one time Iowa was the place to be if you wanted to do well in wrestling.

Every dog has it's day, that's parity in all of sports now days. It's what the NCAA and pro commisioners are all calling for.

What the hell do you know? You have no clue to what you are talking about. Stop listening to these idiots on ESPN. No Kentucky fan thinks we can win a Championship every 3 or 4 years. I'm a Huge Tubby fan and have always supported him. But the fans can expect a final four more than once every ten years. And with the returning players and the poor recruiting it looked like it would take another 5 years before we would be in a position to compete for a final four. And all of this is comming from a Kansas fan who would have been done with Bill Self had he lost in the second round this year. Get a life and form an opinion of your own. Or just paraphrase Andy Katz some more. I could care less.

The Missouri Valley keeps it coaches and has a higher RPI than the Big 12.

The Big 12 is turning into a football conference.

I love this board.

The Big 8/12 has always been a football conference. It always will be.

All the people here in Lexington seem to be very happy about the signing. I'm not sure, but I thought I saw that the Herald-Leader actually put out a supplement to their morning paper this afternoon running the story and offering highlights and comments from various people.

Although it is fricking snowing in this town tonight :cuss: :cuss: it seems to be a very happy place.
