Here it is, let's see if I can run my record to 3-0.

Our G-men took control last night...

Now that the first homer's outta the way, let's hope Gordon will be a bit more relaxed at the plate and catch up on his hitting.

Greinke's on his way to the All Star game.

My pick to click tonight: Grudzy, who's hitting the ball solid now.

Why on earth would a DH (Sweeney) need a day off, especially this early in the year, when he only played about half the spring games, not to mention all he does is hit, or should I say try to hit. :shake:

Why on earth would a DH (Sweeney) need a day off, especially this early in the year, when he only played about half the spring games, not to mention all he does is hit, or should I say try to hit. :shake:

Well I think of it 2 reasons.

1. His health, and Bell has mentioned several times that he's gonna try to keep Sweeney healthy.

2. Playing on that surface in Toronto isn't a good idea for 3 days in a row, especially for a injury prone player in Sweeney.

I know I know, he wants to keep him healthy, but c'mon, all the guy's been doing is swinging once or twice per plate appearance which is 4-5 times a game, then walking back to the dugout, or running to first then walking back to the dugout. He probably puts more strain on his back during BP then he does during the game.

The surface shouldn't matter -- he's a DH only...

Silock
04-11-2007, 05:19 PM
Maybe he's just prepping Sanders to be the DH?

I don't know what else it could be.

Good first inning for de la Rosa.

Buddy Bell...always tinkering the lineup after a win. WTF is up with that.

Never mind, I just remembered that he is the 3rd worst manager in the history of baseball.

What exactly did Gordon do/not do?

I'm "watching" the game on Yahoo sports.

Silock
04-11-2007, 05:40 PM
He bobbled a perfectly playable ball and was late on the throw to first that would have ended the inning.

Slightly bobbled a chopper down the 3rd base line, throw to 1st not in time.

You know, the play that Teahen was the best in the AL at making. [/critics]

Silock
04-11-2007, 05:42 PM
I'm not being critical of him, per se. It just sucks to give up a run on such an easy play.

Come on Sanders, show us what you can do.

Silock
04-11-2007, 05:54 PM
Well, they're not the usual boring announcers, so that's a plus. Split's inside knowledge definitely is a plus.

04-11-2007, 06:22 PM
Yep. Could had been 5-2.

I always noticed that we have a tendency if we get into a jam, either we get out of it miraculously (not often) or we let all the runners score. Good for us to be able to stop an avalanche in the middle there.

I give De La Rosa credit here. He at least kept the Royals in the game, despite the circumstances.

The Royals are ****ing playing ball.
Too many times over the past few years I've seen this team lay down when the first 5 innings went this way... but this team is fighting. They've done all they can to stay in this game... pitching out of jams when it could've avalanched, great throws... and win or lose, this is the type of game we need to see them play.
