View Full Version : The Strange Practices Of The Bohemian Grove

For those unaware, the Bohemian Grove is a 2700 acre reserve in Sonoma County, California which is the site of an annual two-week gathering of the "Bohemian Club" comprised of the most powerful men in America including entertainers, business leaders, policy-makers, and politicians.

A few interesting tidbits about their practices ...

1. As part of grove meetings, a human effigy is sacrificed before a large owl totem in a ceremony called the "Cremation of Care".

2. Special speeches called "Lakeside Talks" are given that have included topics such as; "Major Defense Problems of the 21st Century", "America's Health Revolution -- Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Pays", "Defining the New World Order". and "America's Promise: Leading Armies and Leading Kids".

3. Grove entertainments called "High Jinks" and "Low Jinks" are staged in which members dress in drag to perform a variety of plays. (Keep in mind, these are world leaders we're talking about, here.)

4. It is generally agreed that many of their practices are derived from ancient Druidic, Masonic, Malthusian, and Bacchanalian traditions.

Below are links to a couple of fairly academic (non-tin-foil-hat) analyses of the Grove. Just wondering if you guys are familiar with this and, if so, what your feelings are about it. Anyone else think this is a little strange?

You're right, Mr. keg in kc. I should have started a thread about how my next door neighbor likes to climb a tree and masturbate with the birds, but I thought this was, potentially, more interesting.

Frankly, I'm fascinated by the concept of these guys participating in ancient pagan rituals for the ostensible purpose of finding respite from the madding crowd.

Is it only Americans? For some reason, I thought leaders from other countries came too, but I don't know a whole lot about it.

I mentioned America, because that's where I'm posting from. But, you're right. I think that persons from other countries have also been members, Mr. noa949. If I'm not mistaken, a couple of UK Lords and Knights have been, or are currently, members. Some foil hats have said that Hitler was a member, but that's been debunked, I'm sure.

One interesting thing I read was that the Manhattan project was cooked up at a Grove meeting. Most people seem to agree on that one. If true, you could reasonably assume that, perhaps, some German scientists might have been present.

This is interesting, Steve Miller (of Steve Miller Band fame) entertained there.

Also, Chad Savage (gay porn star), worked as a valet at the Grove in 2004.

Like you Fax, i find it fascinating as well.

On one hand, you think..."Hey man, how bad could it be??? they got good 'ol Steve Miller hangin' out n' jammin'...

On the other, some strange occultic practices that serve what purpose???

I did read a quote from Richard Nixon once, where he called it..."the faggiest God@mn thing i've ever seen".

Heh, that sure didn't take long - if anyone would be suspect of participating in gay hazing I would start looking to the left side of congress for that :p

This site has some dated ( 80's type ) photos of some of the participants and their air craft. Check out the JETS page to see what they fly in to Santa Rosa in.

just kidding by the way - I am quite sure that rich guys from both sides of the aisle engage in homo-erotica and perverted stuff like that.

I couldn't agree more, Mr. scott free. It makes little sense to me.

I read Nixon's quote. You know, most Americans would say, "What the heck, who cares? I've got my tv and my Big Mac." But, the fact is that these guys are acting like a scout troop dropping acid at Stonehenge.

I think that the most interesting aspect is the whole government within a government angle. We have grown men dressing as ladies pretending to sacrifice people in a pyre running the show? No thanks.

Somehow I can't shake the image of a Henry Kissinger type saying, "This one time.....at band...err...Bohemian Grove camp...."

birds can masturbate

Of course they do, Mr. blueballs. They put the peck in pecker. But, that's hardly the point.

Your right to masturbate is afforded you by the constitution which may be in significant jeopardy as our political and corporate leaders make new rules under the influence of a giant stone owl. True patriots grow limp at the thought.

Just a little druid humor there, Mr. keg in kc. I've seen his documentary and found it interesting albeit not very objective.

One fascinating aspect of this (that Jones made apparent) is how "secretive" the whole thing is. Apparently, if you're not a member, you have to pretend you're someone else to get in the place.
