Tonic, lime and ice for a gin and tonic.

Vermouth and an olive for a martini.

It's worth it to get a decent brand like Beefeaters or Taquery over something like Seagrams.

Maybe that is why it is not my favorite then. It was two bottles of Seagrams.

In general, white liquor leaves me feeling worse the next day than brown liquor. I like gin, but I don't go wild with it.

Tom Collin's are a great break from the usual fair....gin with Collin's mix. I used to enjoy them in college.

Just remember the Collins mix IS carbonated, so you don't want to blend them. :banghead:

A certain room on the sixth floor of Oliver Hall at KU probably STILL reeks of it....:hmmm:

Hendricks is good, Bombay is nice, recently I've enjoyed Miller's. It's in the same price range as Tangueray.

One thing about Gin though, you just cannot go cheap with it. Cheap gin is worse than cheap whiskey.

Tonic and a lime wedge. Only the best drink in the world. If you are really desperate just take shots.

TT if gin must be Tanguery on a hot august day.

I like a VT with lime better.

Sapphire and Seven for me

Ahh... same here... I didn't know anybody else that drinks gin with 7up....

Good stuff....

I was once given a bottle of Old Raj gin.... and I have to say it was the best gin I've ever had... the aftertaste is so smooth, drinking it straight is the only way to go.... I was told it was quite expensive though....

Gin is produced by compounding a Gin flavor (essence) with a neutral Scottish Grain Spirit. The Gin essence is prepared by steeping botanicals, principally Juniper, but also Coriander Seed, Angelica Root, and a few others in an alcohol/water mixture for 36 hours and then distilling after a partial reflux in a small pot still.

Cadenhead's Old Raj Gin is distinctive in that it contains a measure of saffron, the rare and costly spice derived from the crocus flower. In addition to a slightly spicy flavor, this also imparts a pale yellow color to Old Raj. The addition of the saffron is undertaken personally by the Company Chairman, in order to ensure a consistency in flavor and color each time Old Raj is bottled.

This Old Raj Gin is bottled at 55% ABV and represents a further departure from standard gin bottlings which are generally bottled at 40% ABV or less. Old Raj is a quality-oriented product targeted, as in the case of all Cadenhead products, at the knowledgeable spirits consumer.

When I was in Puerto Rico once I had some brown liquor and then met a brown licker. Good vacation.
