What happens if Surtain or Law get dinged? Who comes in and plays against the third WR?

These guys scare me with that responsibility.

Benny Sapp
Michael Bragg
Dimitri Patterson
Justin Phinisee
Zach Norton
Marcus Maxey

The Chiefs looked at free agent corners so they seemed to know they need someone. I am really surprised that we did not pick up a cornerback early in the draft.

Do the Chiefs think they can still pick up a corner through free agency?

Marcus?

non drafted player signs I bet so we can use HE's special wand on him.

I'm really high on Daymeion Hughes-CB-Cal. Notice that Indy picked him in the 3rd round? Gunther drooled over this guy a month-and-a-half ago. There may be hope for a trade for him, but I think, once again, Tony Dungy out-smarted Herm.

Did we try to get Eric Wright? Did Cleveland step in front of us to get him? I never heard if we were truly after him or that was just a rumor.

I agree and believe they are taking BPA which looks good toward the future instead of right now.

No offense but if you a 7th round pick is going to come in a be the nickel back, then something is wrong with the picture.

Exactly.

Theres no way we go into 07 with whats behind the starters, the only guy who's proven jack is Sapp.

Exactly how I feel.

Would have loved to have a CB. Would have loved a couple of OG's too.

Very happy with this draft overall.

They said they considered trading up to take McBride. Wright probably wasn't even on the radar.

We had a ton of needs and there was no way we could have filled all of them. If we take a guy like Hughes in the 3rd, then that means we don't get Tank Tyler; I would much rather have Tyler in that situation.

CB is important, but I think a strong D-line is essential if you want a great defense. With the addition of Tyler and McBride, we have a potentially strong interior line.

smed1065 is in the club. Anyone else want to realize and admit that the Chiefs have more needs than picks?

Likely that veteran guys will be cut in the upcoming weeks/months for numerous reasons.

The right guys just weren't around at the right time in the draft.

I'm glad they stayed true to their board and didn't take a player based solely on need.

We'll see someone added at CB.

Perhaps we will steal a player off of someone else's practice squad this year.

Agreed....When you have alot of needs you have to weigh your options.

Obviously this staff felt the need for a reliable WR to compliment Kennison, and depth on the D-line outweighed other needs.

I can live with that decision.

You can't seal if you can't steal.

What happens if Surtain or Law don't get dinged? Then we used a first day pick to sit on the bench.

What if our starting WRs or DTs start? We are still woefully inadequate.

Draft for competence before you draft for depth where you are already have two pro-bowl caliber players.

We don't need a compliment to Eddie Kennison...we need players who are BETTER than Kennison. Bowe will be that player, but for those who complain about drafting an impact WR in the first round, wake up and smell the beans. KC's receivers haven't caused an ounce of heartburn for years. Teams double Gonzo, and they pretty much focus on the run because Kennison is average and Parker is a lab experiment.

You can't have too many weapons, especially at a position where you have NONE.

I actually have some hope for Justin Phinisee. I saw him play for a lot of years and was surprised that he wasn't drafted.
