Sime and Hicks gone in the same day?

Seriously, has this site ever experienced such a level of across the board joy?

I know there are other threads I could have posted this in, but it's Christmas morning and I'll do whatever the hell I want.

I would say happy that they're both gone.

I'm ****ing ecstatic that we actually got something for Sims.

Chiefs release pair of veteran linemen

By ADAM TEICHER

The Kansas City Star

After fortifying themselves with defensive linemen in last weekend’s draft, the Chiefs unloaded a couple of veteran lineman today. They traded defensive tackle Ryan Sims, a former first-round draft pick, to Tampa Bay for an undisclosed draft pick. They also released Eric Hicks, a former starting defensive end.The moves had been widely expected for months and they became imminent on Saturday when the Chiefs drafted Tennessee’s Turk McBride in the second round and North Carolina State’s Tank Tyler in the third.

All this great news, plus I heard Willie Roaf is coming back for one final shot at the championship!

I remember how happy I was the day Sims was drafted - I thought it was a great pick...

I am happier today though. That CP got a draft pick out of this is simply amazing.

Maybe after Bobby Bouchette showed up at halftime and the Mud dawgs won the bourbon bowl.....I mean Dante Hall returned a late punt to beat the donkeys, though I was there, and not here, so I wouldn't technically know.

No Bartee.....No Sims.....no Hicks.

Sucking this year might be easier to swallow now, without those 3 goiters.

I dont know, few were saying it was the players and not the coach...

I think it was a happy day for most, but not for all... I still have yet to see one person that is mad about this, or says that this wont fix anything...

I wish they had waited to release Bartee until today too, that would have made it an even sweeter day.

Maybe before the day's over they'll announce the trade of Green and Wesley :)

Great pickup. I liked him coming out of college, though his draft stock rose out of control and he ended up being a major reach at 6. He has talent, is still only 27 years old, and as said a change of scenery might just be what the doctor ordered for someone who had to deal with unrealistic expectations. He will make the team, and at 6'4" 315 lbs is the big DT we need for running downs.

Chris Hovan sounds like quite the fatass.

Only went to two of mine today....feelings appear to be mixed with a fair amount not knowing much about him ( including myself). Apparently he's slated for 2nd string. So the feeling is why not?... to a decent pickup for what we need as Monte is really shoring up the D after that fiasco last season. To feeling really happy as he's big and his body fills in for what was lost when Sapp went.

Boy oh boy, I don't post often but love to read you guys. This indeed is a happy day, we should enjoy it as much as possible. Being a Chiefs fan shortens the life span, so we should enjoy every bit of these good news.

Just remember what we went through: Hacketts, Rayes, Grbacs, Donnell Bennetts (I still hate and shudder on this one), Chester McGlockton, Dan Williams, Mighty Mouse, Chris Dishman, Carlton Grey, Pat Dennis, Lew Bush, Downing, Freeman, Siavii, Woods, Westley, Beisel, Cadrez, Peter Guinta, Dick For Meal, Crockett, Chittick, Harts, Mike Cloud, Blaylock, Shawn Barber, Patton, Stills, Truluck, that 6"9' tight end whose grandma was posting on CP, and many many other illiterate bums that should be begging for a job at local Taco Bell.

Yeah though I have a little respect for the Cardinals though because they want to win and do what they need to, to do it. I wish the Royals would do that, looks like they're starting to dig themselves out of a 12-13 year hole.
