I believe Arrested Development will do a "Family Guy" take a 2 to 3 year hiatus and appear again on a cable network FX, HBO, Showtime ect....

That would be incredibly amazing. Unfortunately, creator Mitchell Hurwitz says he won't reprise the show. That doesn't mean he won't change his mind, but unfortunately it looks like Arrested Development is done for good.

I disagree, the funniest moment is definately this:

It's mind-boggling. I would have to venture a guess that it's a combination of Fox's incompetency when it comes to advertising their good shows (AD barely got any good ad time), moving AD around in the schedule, and the fact that most of the viewing public just isn't smart enough to enjoy a character-driven comedy with no laugh track and a complex storyline.

After all, there has to be a reason that CBS is the number one network for comedy.

And the best show the pinheads at Fox ever canceled was Brimstone. That still pisses me off. They didn't even air enough episodes to rate a DVD collection. :#

I forgot about those two. There were many old time (recent old time) comedies that today's crowd have yet to match. There is an occasional bright spot, but there were far more back then.

Another funny man was Red Skelton. We had a guy working with us that we all referred to as Stone Face. One evening with some Red Skelton DVD's and he was broken down. I never saw someone laugh so hard in all my life!

My guess would be late 70s. I think it was a new show when I was in high school. That show was a gem. I didn't watch it when it first ran, and discovered it later in reruns.

"Oh the humanity"...

I'm not sure how one would rate something funnier than another, but in my mind the turkey episode ranks right up there.

When WKRP went into syndication I used to watch the beginning most nights just to make sure I didn't miss that particular episode.

I'd say that you probably don't appreciate classic humor.

Show me someone that can make you laugh your ass off with out being vulgar and I'll show you a comedian the is not only funny but has the ability to make you laugh in any instance.

The old time comedians had some pretty tight restrictions to their acts. Now days you can say almost anything.

I guess I don't get it either.. the opening clip I watched, but I didn't laugh or see the funny... I was just thinking, wtf?I can certainly understand that. The "funny" in AD is developed over the course of the episode, season, and in some cases, the entirety of the franchise. Even the one-liners draw upon contextual references that might not be immediately apparent.
