Q4: Who has the ability to declare war?

Can't the president declare war without the approval of congress for 30 days? Or did somebody write this on my forehead while I was passed out in college?

I didn't know that how many amendments proposed by Congress hadn't gotten enough states' votes.

Didn't know which president was born in Texas.

EDIT: Too much spoiler information the first time around.

Of course I really did just guess on all 5 of those...

For years I've thought it was Nathan Hale who said "Give me Liberty or give me Death." Guess I've been wrong for years.

Besides that one, I missed the Eisenhower question. Who gives a shit?

Hale's famous quote was (I'm pretty sure) "I regret that I have but one life to give for my country."

I could've swore that three have been assassinated, so I picked 4 and got it wrong. Kennedy, Lincoln and another in the late 1800s.

Though I did get 30 of 30, I have to admit, I got lucky on some guesses. I guessed on the unratified amendments.

I knew English was not the official language by federal law. I knew bush was born in conneticut but Eisenhower was a guess. I knew reagan was born in Illinois.

I also guessed on the dare of the last amendment to be ratified. I remember vaguely that there had been a fairly recent one, but I could not have told you the date nor the content.

I also picked 4 for the number of assasinated president's b/c I knew it wasn't two, because I knew about Kennedy, Lincoln and McKinley. If 3 had been an option, I would have picked it, b/c I forgot about Garfield.

i wonder if Garfield counts since he died from a heart attack while recovering from the assassination attempt. (80 days later)

McKinley was kind of in the same boat since he died from gangrene (from the wound received when assassinated)

If everyone who died from antiquated medical procedures were no longer counted as murders, I figure you'd have a long list to deal with...

Yeah, in the year 2254, they could say "Kennedy wasn't really assasinated, he just died b/c those barberic rubes in 1963 didn't even have elementary techniques in regrowing brain cells and restoring memory after head trauma".

Cute take. Check your spelling ("barberic"), then check your logic at the door.

Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and Kennedy were shot. They all died from complications of being shot.

What part of that would you like to disagree with?

And,that damn official language question.Bah!
