View Full Version : Does 610 know what they're talking about?

I spent yesterday afternoon listening to sports talk radio for the first time in quite some time.

During those 4 or 5 hours I heard Rhonda Moss mistakenly say that JA would be suspended 8 games for his next infraction (wrong, it would be an entire 16 game season) and Neil or Marty say that the Chiefs would be on the hook for Trent Green's entire salary if he were retained on the roster beyond June 1st.

During both statements, any one of the others (Neil, Marty, or Rhonda) could have corrected the misinformation but did not. I view that as endorsement of the error.

Do they make such horrible mistakes all the time? If so, how do I get their jobs? I mean, I don't know a whole lot but I know this much.

Rhonda also did not remember if the Chiefs took a kicker to compete with Tynes to camp last year - between the 3 of them they couldn't come up with an answer. They did not, but that's not really a horrible error - it just bears mentioning in this thread.

Are they always this erroneous?

Not usually. Rhonda is, but she brings ratings, so they keep her around.

Neil and Marty are usually a lot smarter than that.

Oh, just because you worked for WPI for awhile, all of a sudden you're an expert on shoddy reporting?

Clearly your next business venture should be a pirate radio station.

Nah, I'm a nobody. Always have been a nobody. I don't know what it is about the current writing crop suddenly thinking they're special since they write for a 2nd rate magazine site.

Both sports talk radio stations are jokes.

I can't believe that 610 is still on the air with the terrible ratings they pull.

810 revolves around KK making shit up and then convincing himself that he's right.

Why are you making this about me? I'm not trying to attack you here. Lighten up, Phil.

I was actually serious. I think you'd be a great radio host.

Did that hurt you? Dude, you work with Nick "The Erroneous One" Athan. It's a good stepping stone to something bigger, but you're correcting articles written at a 7th grade level. Keep it in perspective.

I'd be horrible on the radio full time. I'd need a partner who could carry my dead weight.

Awesome. I could pay him $500 and then promise to pay him more (by the end of the month) every month from now until the end of time.

Bland and blander aren't a font of football knowledge. The only upside is that they're an alternative to an equally ignorant, far more offensive (to me) Kietzman.

In the end, all the sports talk in town suffers from the 'talk too much about themselves, too little about sports" syndrome.

You should be a radio talk show host, then youd never have to worry about your spelling.

i wish they would not yap about their golf game. There is plenty of sports in this town to talk about. Plenty of softball tourny's right now that I haven't even heard a peep out of them on the radio.

810 should move St. John and Petro back to back in the afternoon. Give KK the 12am shift. Of course, he's a partner in the station (I think) so that'll never happen.

Neil and Marty on 610 are tolerable in the afternoon and usually very knowledgeable. I listen to them because KK tries to stir shit up by saying stupid things and defending it the rest of the show. They get listeners by doing that, but I'm not sure why it works. Stupid listeners?
