What is the deal with Jared Allen, does he even lift weights? He looks like a puss for a DE. Yes, I know he could squash me like a grape...but really compare the pic of Nap to JA. You'd think all those twelve oz curls would build some sort of bicep.

How do you know where the sideline is?

First of all its obvious from the fact that his lead (right) foot is perpendicular to the yard markers that is his cutting up field. There are very few circumstances where a RB is moving away from the nearest sideline and cuts up field. Such a manuever is much more common among WR, since they commonly catch passes near the sideline etc. Secondly, a ball carrier is normally going to lean into the direction from which the pursuit is coming. If the pursuit were coming from LJ's left, any hit is going to knock him easily to the ground, HARD. Instinctively, a ball carrier is not going to do that. The fact that the pursuit is coming from the inside (his right) is confirmed by a close examination of his eyes. They are focused to the right or his inside. Finally, 80% of the time LJ has the ball in the wrong hand, especially when he is runnign to his left.

Isn't it obvious to you from looking at the picture where the pursuit is coming from? I had to break it down logically to explain it, but one glance said, he's running to his left and is cutting up field; the sideline is on is left and the pursuit is coming from his right. The ball is on the wrong side.

Whatever. He seldom fumbles.

He has good hands, no doubt. He's strong. He's talented. But his fundamentals are weak. That is why he has touble with exchanges (which get bamed on the QB), doesn't block well, and doesn't run good routes. He's an amazing physical speciman, but the only way he can continue to get better is to improve his fundamentals and the easiest of those to fix is the hand he carries the ball in. It's not like LJ doesn't have many areas of his game that he could improve.
