So I got to take part in breaking the world record for most guitarists playing simultaneously (1,683) in Kansas City Sunday, June 3. It was actually a pretty cool thing- even made CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/06/04/smoke.guitar.ap/).

Were any other CP'ers there?

It was weird. There was no electricity.. To be heard, you had to either have an acoustic or use one of the battery-powered Pignose amps. I had niether- I just plunked away on the V, totally unheard by myself or anyone else for that matter.. :)

So it was this eerie mush of sound, lots of slightly off-key and off-time riffing. By the time the band volume got to me way in the back, we were playing probably a good second after the guys in front.

Really, the best part was just meeting a few folks and talking guitar.

Bob Dole would have loaned you his Pignose.
