It doesn't matter. I work with a guy that has an MBA, and another one that has a Master's. They both make less than I do while I have a joke marketing degree. It's not like I'm exactly rolling in the dough either.

The smartest guy I've ever met was my drop out of college roommate. He was a genius. Getting your MBA, Masters, etc and such just shows that you like to study and try harder than everybody else, and you've read alot of books, not necessarily about natural intelligence.

That is true, but I have the medium six figure income to go with it. Just lucky I guess, since I don't have the intellect to meet your or GoChiefs standards.

I wasn't necessarily knocking on you, I'm just saying that a degree isn't a true evaluation of intelligence. Alot of intelligent people are lazy and just don't care. I know alot of those people. Driven people and those who can co-exist with other people building strong relationships are those who succeed monetarily alot of times, which is a type of intelligence in itself. No doubt there is a direct correlation on the grand scheme of things to a degree and how much one makes and their intelligence, but there are many that aren't.

My dad for example is one of the best people I've ever seen at dealing with people in the business world. He has a HS diploma and that's it and he's rolling in 215K as VP of Marketing at a Major Nursery company. He had a 1.7 GPA in HS, and probably reads at a 10th grade level.

No question, people like your dad can and do exist and they are not that unusual. Effort and opportunity are far more important than education.

I agree with the first part of your statement. But consider that he is experiencing things that have effected his life in profound ways, from what I understand, so in my opinion it's obvious it does run deeper than simply "stirring the pot". I get very tired of the repeated bombardment of the Jesus and God stuff and I will comment accordingly, and he does make contradictory statments all over the place and like his girl mem he will NEVER admit to them - but if these things help him figure out things, so be it - it's a free country.

I don't give a good goddamn if he deviates from the posting style he had 5 years ago.

It's HOW he's deviated - everything he posts is reminiscent of a vengeful 5-year old, pounding his fists on the ground as if to say "Well, if you won't agree with me, I'll annoy you until you can't stand it anymore."

My personal opinion is that, being the offseason and all, these threads are fine.
I really only see bitterness coming from one side, and it ain't Logical's. Sure he and other nonbelievers (or believers at that end of the spectrum) poke fun at some of our beliefs, but hell, if we are too uptight to have a sense of humor about it, then we deserve for our feelings to be hurt.
It's those who see a question and kneejerk right to calling folks haters, or accusing them of an agenda that seem bitter. It's those who try and diagnose over the internet that seem bitter. I just think, if you don't want to address the topic, stay away from it. But if you have the nuts to take it on, great for you. Example: I really, 98% of the time can't stand Kotter's posts. But over the past few days, reading his posts in some of these religion-themed threads, have come to respect his outlook a lot more. He's not afraid to take it on and discuss it, when he could cry and strike out at the air like many have.

Jim's mission statement: "Encite, offend and annoy, then enjoy the ensuing carnage." He's always been that way to a certain extent - but lately he's really taken it to the next level, added topics (I loved his recent out-of-nowhere attack on the Royals), and moved his tired act from DC to the main BB.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who's sick of it.

Dammit Tim then start some interesting threads, if you are not creating then you are just bitching. I know you can create good threads why don't you anymore?

You're so controversial Jim.

I have to admit that I noticed posting frequency had dropped off dramatically over the past few days. At least it appeared that way to me.

If so, Mr. Logical has solved that problem. It's almost as if his threads are divinely inspired.

I don't thrive on discord, Jim. What you apparently consider interesting is just a pain in the ass to me. Perhaps you should find a PTL forum and register as a devil worshipper. That would be a real laugh riot for you, I guess.
