Forgive me in advance, but I felt the need to type this out. I've never done that before....

Today would be my oldest brother's - Jim - 41st birthday. I think some people here already know, but on June 2nd, 1986 he died in car accident as a result of the drunk driver he was with.

It's kind of a rough day for me and my family. I have a tough time with it every year. Long story short - he's been gone 21 years and I miss him like it happened yesterday.

Keep him in your thoughts and prayers today.

Craziness. It's also my father's b'day who, as many here know, passed away in a boating accident two years ago.

No worries. This isn't my brother's day. It's just his birthday and one of the many days I remember him. My thoughts are with you as well.

Having lost far too many family members at far too young an age, I can sympathize.
