Anyone go to the Royals game last night?

On top of being the worst game i've seen, being shutout and zero excitement, myself and 27,000 fans were ready for a fireworks display to only find out about 20 min later that the fireworks got messed up by rain. They had the 4th of july countdown 3 times and NOTHING, "we want fireworks" chants went off like crazy and then a rain of boo's, probably the loudest ive heard at a game when they found out the fireworks have been cancelled. They blamed the weather for damaging the system. Well, they were the dumbasses that didn't prepare. My gf and I were thoroughly dissapointed as well as all the fans, esp. the kids with their heads down after the game. Probably the worst evening at the ballpark ever. Anyone else share in my dissapointment?

The fireworks on Tuesday were very impressive and awesome... and all the kids left with their heads up.

The Mariners blamed the loss on the Royals badassness. My wife and I were thoroughly fulfilled as well as all the fans, esp. the kids with their heads held up after the game. Probably the best evening at the ballpark ever. Anyone else share in my excitement?

best 4th of july
Current mood: aggravated

The day started off well enough. Hot and Humid like any other July
Matt and I woke up and watched a couple video's of "the dramatic Chipmonk'
We laughed everything was looking good from there. We then went down to the
810 zone Happy as can be, skipping, and singing songs as nothing could go wrong as we were young and rich
and more importantly we were rich with love in our hearts. We worked all
summer for a day off and now we have it
and nothing was going to stop us from having a good time. We sat down and
"Oh my!" I yelled
chicken fried steak for 8 dollars and 10 cents. This really is america's
birthday!
The server was nice and seemed disease free. As we recived our food I
thought to myself. It doesn't get better than this!
Well as I ate my cardboard covered and gravey I was like Ok this isn't good
but the potato's will be good
. Well as it turns out. You actually can mess up mashed potato's. For some
reason they put sour creme in the potato's
No big deal ususally but as it turns out the side dish was actually sour
creme with a small hint of mashed potato's in.
I scraped the rest of the food on the ground for an imaginary dog to eat.
Then matt discovered that his debit card was missing.
I had a sneaky suspecion that the disease free server took it to buy more
sour creme. Ok that was bad but we had a royals game to go to
whoo hoo! The sunny day turned into a rainy day as we went out to the ball
staduim and hung out. There were alot of cuties out there
in short shorts and alot of guys and gals younger than us running around
and having fun. Normally I would be bitter I didn't have no cutie
or not having much fun but then I remember that I already had those days
when I was younger. We would all go to the ball park hold on to our
cuties drink and have a blast. Sadley that was a long long time ago, but I
am not bitter because I still remember those days vividly.
After falling in and out of a rolling rock induced coma we went inside the
staduim along with 100 cuties with short shorts on.
Our seats were pretty hi up and full of dirt and mud. Matt ordered some
chickan strips that took a better part of an hour to get.
The royals went on to loose 4 to zero but that wasn't what I was there for.
I was there for the fireworks. The rain had cleared off
now the moment I had been waiting for all summer and working for. The crowd
was beginng to stir when "Neil diamonds" america came on.
I love neil diamond I was so excited I was going to just enjoy this and
savour the moment. Little kids from all over america join in and celebrate
america's birthday with beautiful fireworks under a rain drenched royals
staduim. Yes this is the moment we have worked hard for
Ok well they are starting over Neil diamond but thats ok that is a good
song. this is the moment ahhh here comes the fire works and neil diamond. Royals fans get ready....
Ahhhh I am ready to enjoy the fire works. The crowd was really getting into
it FIRE ER WORS FIREWORKS. Ok well the man comes on the P.A and says the fireworks were goingto get started alittle late. I turned to my friend matt who was joyous of
the possiblility for bigger fireworksMaybe they went to fireworks barn to get MORE fire works bigger and better!
Oh the excitement was killing meHere comes neil diamond again after alittle more waiting. YES here it comes
the loucious fireworks! Then a couple pops and then a sizzling sound and a CHORUS of boo's.
BOOO DAVID GLASS. BOO0000. The fireworks had been canceled. Kids started crying, grown men were cussing the announcer said because of the rain the fire works didn't work. He didn't say why a tarp was put over the fire works or why corporate woods
had fireworks that went off without a hitch. The announcer announced that our
ticket could be used for a future game, but my heart had been broken
there would be no other july 4th 2007 and seeing the royals getting whomped
another time is not going to make me feel better.
"daddy you go to work when it rains?" I heard a kid say as we walked
sulking to a car."sometimes life isn't fair." the father said
