COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Oakland Raiders defensive end Bryant McNeal was arrested Thursday on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop in South Carolina.

McNeal, a 27-year-old reserve, was wanted in Florida for selling a Land Rover to a pawn broker for $15,000 when he didn't own it, Clearwater, Fla., police spokesman Wayne Shelor said.

The former Clemson player will remain at the Lexington County jail until Florida authorities make arrangements for his extradition, Lexington County sheriff's spokesman Maj. John Allard said in an e-mail. Allard said McNeal told authorities he did not have an attorney.

A warrant for McNeal's arrest was issued in December 2005 on a charge of defrauding a pawn broker, Shelor said. The player also was served an arrest warrant from Richland County for writing a fraudulent $1,500 check to Berger Dental Group, the Lexington County sheriff's department said.

McNeal signed with Tampa Bay in December 2004 and was cut before the next season began. He was signed to the Raiders' practice squad last season.

"We take matters of this nature very seriously," Oakland spokesman Mike Taylor said Thursday. "But until we have all of the facts, it would be inappropriate to comment or otherwise react."

A Raiders-connected player with questionable moral fiber?

ROFL

Makes me proud to be a South Carolinian, at least briefly. Just send Raiders players here... we will arrest em!

Chiefs have had more run ins with the law than the Raiders over the past couple years. Keep trying though although I personally don't believe it has to do with the team and more of what you get when you give thugs millions and they go from rags to riches.

What is it Raiderfan always throws up in our faces when faced with smack talk? Oh, Superbowl trophies since the beginning of time.

Let's talk Raider bad seeds since the beginning of time and find out who wins at that game.

Win a game against us for the first time in three or four years, then open yer pie hole. Until then "GOODNIGHT NOW!".

That is something to be real proud of beating up on the worst team in football over the past 4 years. Props to you and your high expectations for the queefs. If they beat Oakland 2x that is your SB.

This actually brings up a good challenge; I wonder how to find out exactly which team has had more run ins with the law over the past say, 5 years - anyone?

What was Marty's record against your thugs? 20-1? Something like that.

Didn't he get that DUI before he was a Raider.

Yet the Raiders still signed him.

Hehehe. The first stages of denial.

Not like he is a big starter or anything, but he is certainly following in the Raider tradition of excellence in off-field conduct!

"Big starter?" Some reserve guy they used at practice sometimes when no real players were available.

Bad moral character, no question. But what gets me, he thought he would get by with selling a Land Rover he didn't own?

Just how stupid would he have to be? I wonder what his wonderlick is?
