The north TX area has been like Seattle on roids the last 6 weeks... insane rain. I think the Dallas area has already had about 28 inches of rain this year, mostly in the last 2 months. That is well above what was received in all of 2006.

Hehe. I sat just inside the door of my customer's building and watched the winds and rain destroy umbrellas for about twenty minutes. People were coming in from a 35 foot walk absolutely drenched from head to toe, pants included, with their umbrellas completely torn up. It was awesome.

So.. is all the rain because of global warming, or is the several years of drought prior to this rainy season because of global warming?

A. Yes

B. Get it right, it's "Climate Change" now.

C. It's still utter bulls**t.

One of the craziest storms I've ever witnessed. One minute it's bright outside, about 89 degrees. The next it's 67, there's booming thunder, and rain's falling harder than I think I've ever seen.

One of the coolest parts was that the wind changed direction 180 degrees in about 10m where I was.

This is not necessarily new. I used to love this kind of weather. You know, if you don't like the weather, wait 5 mins. blah, blah, blah.

Really? You should come to Springfield. Shit like that happens every year.

Just a few weeks ago, it's fine. All of a sudden it's cloudy and starts pounding rain. About a minute and a half later, it's quiet again. Within 10 minutes, you couldn't see a cloud in the sky.

The funny thing is, I have never lived anywhere where people didn't use that phrase.

"If you don't like the weather in Denver, just wait five minutes."

"If you don't like the weather in New York, just wait five minutes."

"If you don't like the weather in Palm Springs, just wait five minutes."

"If you don't like the weather at the Vostok Research Station in Antarctica, just wait five minutes."

Heh. After 4 years of daily doomsday predictions she finally managed to hit a real storm that only hit part of the city.
