Trying to help a friend replace the dome light on a 2007 Ford Fusion and I'll be damned if I can't get the cover off I'm afraid I'm going to break it...anyone open the cover yet? Or know how to get one open?

2007 car needs a dome light already?
Make sure that's the case. Check that switch that shuts it off (you never know) and take it to the friggen delaership! He couldn't have had it for more than a year.

It's not that it NEEDS it per se it is that he wants to put red lights in the map and dome light

Is it possible that the car has a sunroof? If that's the case, maybe the "dome light" will start working again when he pulls the car out of the garage.

Since you're an officer of the law, that is what he is telling you. He probably wants to put something else there. :hmmm:

 he is a insurance investigator and doesn't want his presence announced when using the interior lights for reading/writing etc etc...it is a legitimate use

The owner's manual might be a good place to start...

Just say no to the red dome light.
And tell Roxanne he doesn't need to wear that dress too tight, either.

Since you aren't getting past the plastic lense, try going in from the other side. An Irwin Unibit through the roof will leave a big enough hole to work through.
