I hate talking on the phone period. Texting is awesome. That way, your chick can't keep tabs on you. In the old days, chicks will call you, and if you don't answer, they think something is up. texting is great! I don't have to call her, I can occasionally check in from time to time without a bunch of chit chat. Booty calls are simple as can be, and it just makes things much simpler. Granted, my social skills are probably quickly eroding away and if I ever meet a chick that doesn't text, I'm most likely dead in the water. Luckily, I'll never come across a chick worth keeping around that can't 1/2 way figure out texting.

I probably average about 50 texts per day... but 95% of the time I'm responding to a text from one of three chicks that text me... so I think that makes me less ghey.

My brothers text me too a couple times a week on average. Usually something sports or car related that doesn't require a real phone call.
