Missouri picked to win Big 12 North

The Kansas City Star


Missouri was picked to win the Big 12 North and Texas the Big 12 South in a preseason poll of media that cover the conference.
The Tigers return 15 starters off of last year’s 8-5 team that participated in the Sun Bowl. The Tigers won eight games in 2006 for only the 10th time in school history. MU will be looking for its third consecutive bowl appearance in 2007 behind junior quarterback Chase Daniel, who threw for 3,906 yards last season.
Nebraska was chosen to finish second in the North, followed by Kansas State, Kansas, Colorado and Iowa State.
Texas welcomes back 13 starters from its 2006 squad that finished 10-3 overall. Big 12 defending champion Oklahoma was picked to finish second in the South, followed by Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Baylor.
The winners of the North and South divisions will square off in the 2007 Big 12 Championship on Dec. 1 at San Antonio’s Alamodome.

Personally I think Nebraska is going to win it, but Mizzou better get it done this year or the Huskers will be back.

Like I said if Mizzou dont win this year, they wont win it for a while.

That being said I dont think Pinkel is capable of taking Mizzou to the next level. At best they will be a 9-3 team under his tenure IMO, maybe get lucky and go 10-2, doubt it though.

I didn't see a load of talent on defense either. I saw a unit that looked average at best against decent offenses.

I'm nuts?!?!? The team started out 6-0 and finished the season 2-5 and went 8-5 to only choke in their bowl game. There's no reason to lose to OSU,TXAM, and ISU the way they did. Pinkel was the sole reason they lost those games. especially the ISU game, good lord.

MU will probably win it because they have Nebraska at home. However MU has to go to K-State, they haven't faired well there lately.

I think MU, NU have the best shot at the north with KSU having an outside chance. The rest, no chance.
