I'm having a difficult time feeling sorry for Manning about this.

On the other hand, he'll have a whole new guy to blame for stuff and that's good.

so ...... according to many people around here that means the colts offense should be ranked out of the top 10 this year.

They'll institute flag football rules for the opponents of the Colts -

All defenses playing against the Colts must incorporate a full five count after the snap before rushing the passer.

Great player, great career.

I won't be surprised to see Tony Ugoh set the league record for fewest holding calls by a rookie O-Lineman.

It will have nothing to do with his blocking skills.

Glenn was a very good LT, but with Manning's quick delivery, I don't see any drop off, unless Ugoh is horrid.

yup, and with the way they draft, I don't think there will be that much of a decline.

Sure, Pro Bowlers get replaced by nobody rookies with no "drop off" all the time.

The fact is that while Manning may not have double the sacks, the fact that they can't count on Glenn to take on a superior pass-rusher coming from the blind side means they'll have to adjust schemes and make changes, none of which are for the better. Then you have the run-blocking situation.

Let me put it this way -- there's a cumulative negative effect that could cost htem a game or two, could cost them home field advantage, could cost them in the playoffs, etc.

There's no such thing as "no drop off" from losing a Pro Bowler to a rookie. Otherwise, why were they paying Glenn whatever they were paying him??

I'm sure there'll come a point where it'll hurt them, but for the most part I wouldn't be surprised if there was little drop off either. Ugoh's not some 2nd day nobody prospect. Every year the Colts are supposed to be worse because they lost this guy or that guy. Last year it was that they'd lost a Pro Bowler in Edge, and having a rookie back there would hurt their offense and yadda yadda, and that never happened. They draft pretty well. Glenn was a good player, but half-jokingly, they'll probably have less false start penalties without him. Seemed like he was good for one of those a game.

What, there was another yard sale in Cleveland?

My bad Amnorix, I should've said "I don't see much of a drop off." I agree there can be a cumulative effect on the season, but I don't think there will be.

He wasn't some 2nd day nobody prospect but he was a wildly inconsistent, raw prospect that was a 1st day pick because of his workout numbers only.

Yeah, he's afraid of Jarvis Moss who can't collect more than 7.5 sacks in a season with superior talent surrounding him on his defensive line.

That kinda sucks.... don't you guyz remember how much fun it was to watch the Colts slap the Donks down every time every time they poked their little noses into the playoffs? It was always great entertainment.
