Under CP:
1. 133 straight sellout games
2. Since being hired by the chiefs, they have a .723 record at home, the best in the NFL in that span
3. And he has some sweet shades
4. But, only 1 playoff win (I think, I'm don't remember when they actually won a playoff game)

In the early days of Chiefsplanet, before we were aware of Carl's undead status, we tried to exterminate Carl through an unfortunate sky diving accident but apparently he's in Transylvania from May to early June visiting relatives.

We then attempted to break into castle and behead him, stuff his mouth full of garlic and drive a wooden stake through his heart but hitsmage bought elephant garlic instead of the regular stuff.

Since then we've just become complacent.

You want stats? I'll give you stats!
The Chiefs have great regular season records and but what about the playoffs? The historical facts about the results on the field can't be denied.

That was the year before. Jan of 91 after the 1990 season.

He beat the Raiders in the playoffs the next year after the 91 season.

When CP signed his last extension the plan was that it would be his last. Apparently, he is grooming his replacement.

This is not good for KC.

The only way that ownership can demonstrate that they are sick of mediocrity and want a Championship would be to fire CP and hire a new GM and be very involved with driving success in the franchise.

Before CP there was Steadman. He is a prominent member of the ring of fame. For what? I remember my Dad's "Dump Steadman" shirt when he was at the helm.

Lamar wanted to be a part of the NFL bad. He had a rich Dad that was willing to fund his dream.

After he accomplished that goal, he then focused on soccer. He was going to be the maverick that brought soccer to the US just like he broke into the NFL.

This attempt was at the cost of the Chiefs. Soccer tore up our field and the Chiefs have been consistently under the cap. They are a cash cow.

Early indications are that Clark is not going to change things. The Green issue (although I agree with their goal) could have been managed much better. The LJ episode is playing out just like every other CP contract issue.

I didn't mention that our #1 draft pick is not in camp.

I suspect that CP is bonused on the overall profit of the club. Ownership has to be held responsible.

If ownership is doing all that they can do, and CP is the problem. Why aren't they smart enough to fire him?

We blame CP for the Jenkins, Siavii talent selection...why not blame Hunt for the CP talent selection?

I've said this time and time again, it's all on the ownership.

If the ownership mandates that the GM puts a competitive team on the field, year in and year out, CP is doing an excellent job.

If the mandate is to win championships, then the GM is doing a lousy job.

So what's the mandate from ownership?

"But what Peterson has done — I think better than anyone in sports — is convince everyone that his mediocre teams are actually good and promising. How? He has kept the Chiefs from having one of those comical 3-13 seasons. He has always found players with star quality — Derrick Thomas to Joe Montana to Marcus Allen to Tony Gonzalez to Priest Holmes to Larry Johnson. And the Chiefs have just missed the playoffs enough times to keep everybody coming back for more."

Dear Greatest Fans in the NFL:

I've just got a couple years left on my contract I negotiated with Lamar before he passed.

Part of my compensation is based on profitability of the Kansas City Chiefs.

A big part.

When my time is done, I'll give myself a helluva going away party, perhaps name the stadium after myself.

Then I'm going to take my millions earned here in the greatest NFL market in the country, and accept that ambassadorship to Scotland.

My parachute is golden, baby.

Your Pal,
Carl "Delano" Peterson

...

It's going to be Peterson flunky Terry Bradway. He's already put in a down payment on the job:

"The Kansas City Chiefs cleared the way for Herman Edwards to become their new coach, agreeing Friday to a compensation deal with the New York Jets.
The Chiefs would give the Jets a surprisingly low fourth-round pick if they hire Edwards, who has ties to the team and general manager Carl Peterson. Because Edwards was still under contract with the Jets, the Chiefs needed to give up something to get him."

...

"The Jets and general manager Terry Bradway are certain to be criticized for getting only a midlevel pick for giving up their coach.

When the Chiefs hired Vermeil in 2000 they were forced to give St. Louis a second- and third-round pick even though he had retired after leaving the Rams.

The Raiders received two No. 1s, two No. 2s and $8 million from the Tampa Bay for Jon Gruden and New England got picks in the first four rounds from the Jets for Bill Parcells."
