I hope we destroy the Rump Rangers for 2 reasons:

1) To get back in a winning groove after the disaster against the Yankmees.

2) Because it will chap Goatcheese's ass.

You used to go out of your way to annoy Royals fans when the Royals played the Rangers.

Or was that more about just being a pain in the ass?

Great game to watch. Would have been nice if we shut em out, making it 2 shutouts in a row, but ill take this win any day. Personally, looking back at the 3 losses to the yankmees, i realized we just ran into a very solid and hot lineup. The way they played us is exactly the way a $200mil lineup is supposed to play all the time. The DevilRays and us just got to be the lucky ones to catch them when they decided to do just that.

Im loving this shit and am hoping we can get within 10 games or better from .500.

petegz28
07-27-2007, 10:06 PM
Why do you say that?

After pitching 7 shutout innings he could of at least let Bannister take the mound then go out and get him so the crowd could of given Bannister the standing ovation he well deserved.

I thought it was tasteless and thoughtless of Bell not to do that. Bannister pitched his f**king ass off tonight. I was totally impressed with this kid and he deserved a round of applause from this crowd.

The guy was at what, 120 pitches? He did a fantastic job, and I'm sure everyone on the team told him so. He'll get his props from the fans in the media and everywhere else. I guarantee you Bannister's not upset about not getting an ovation.

I agree with Buddy's decision.

well i wasnt there, was anybody chanting for bannister at all? Personally, if it seems that the crowd wants an ovation, then yah, give it to them. Doesnt have to be walking back from the mound, could just pop out and wave his cap for a minute. Dude, I've heard of this maybe.... once or twice and that was years ago. I forget if Muser or Pena did it.

I am not "acting as if this would affect the game some how", I am reluctantly defending Buddy Bell from a crime that just about every manager would be "guilty" of.

This wasnt disrespect or lack of class, it probably never even occured to him, nor to just about everyone else in the park.

Apparently Jayson Stark updated his trade market blog or whatever it is he has. He says Dotel is still drawing a ton of interest, pretty much every contending team is interested, and that other GM's tell Stark the Royals are apparently still in "shopping" mode, whatever that means. I guess just kinda feeling everybody out. He says the Dodgers, Indians, Mariners and Red Sox are the front runners at the moment. With the Cubs, Braves, Mets, Yankees, and Tigers in the mix. Rumored big names Stark throws around were Dodgers SS Hu and now apparently Mariners OF prospect Wladimir Balentien.

Boy, it's nice to have the guy who's in demand right now. I wonder how they feel about Bianchi?

I don't know anything about Balentien, but it looks like he's hitting for average and power in AAA right now.

It's good to know we're probably going to get something pretty good for a guy who we bought low on in the offseason.

I don't know a ton about Balentien, he seems to be a really popular choice on the various Royals' boards. Supposedly has great power, great speed, strikes out a ton though. Although supposedly he's gotten better at making contact, I haven't looked at his stats. Ben Francisco of the Indians is another name that's been thrown around a lot. Stark also mentions David Murphy of the Red Sox.
