View Full Version : Bachelor pad wall decorations?

A large percentage of the guys here have had a bachelor pad at some point in their life, I'm willing to bet.

How did you cover the walls, so you weren't staring into a blank white abyss with zero personality, reflecting to you your own lack of worth in a universe that would function perfectly fine without you?

I've been trying to spruce up the blankness of my place but I can't find any good places in town to check it out. Everything out there is like either artsy fartsy interior decorator shit or Pier 1 modern art bullshit that I'm not advanced enough to "get."

Ideas welcome.

First thing. 62"HD TV, second thing Captain Kirk Chair.

Seriously, you can't just decorate your place IMO. You need to add things that mean something to you otherwise it's not you.

What's wrong with that?

Might as well just paint your walls black or chocolate brown.

I try to buy tour posters at the concerts I go to. They are becoming more and more common even with smaller acts. Anyway, I've spent a lot of time and money framing these posters with the tickets. I have those hanging around.

Having been a military man, I've been in tons of bachelor pads.

Most the time it's road signs, neon beer signs, band posters, nude pinups, etc.

Took most of my good art to my office [wildlife oils, Mallards mostly, . . oh and a print of a promotional work depicting Truman State in it's first year].
Home's actually kind of objectively sad. That's because my striving for the theater experience has me hanging big heavy quilts over the windows because window treatments weren't keeping out enough light.

No, I have had plenty of practice over the 41 years. I am partial gypsy and move about every five years.

At first they are usually impressed but then come the questions about other women on the 2nd or 3rd visit or about any x's and if they live in the area. :hmmm:

My grandmother bought a picture frame and put it up, and kept the generic picture that was in it, which was a man and a woman in a boat. My parents (I was young at the time) told her that the picture was not intended for framing, and that the intent was that the generic picture be thrown away and replaced with a photo or something. However, my grandmother liked the generic picture and kept it up on the wall for 20 years.

I did not show my plants or mention cooking for a female because of the Ghey innuendos.

I am not blessed with great looks but I work what I was provided with to the best of my ability.

Young bucks should wait until after thirty to use the decorating, plants and cooking a kick azz meal. (while they believe they are going to a 5 star restaurant ticket like me)

I have learned to use what I was given talent wise to my advantage.

There are options for those not granted with great looks, I should know. :)

Use them to your advantage!
