I was almost positive that my Dodgers were going to give up the record setter from Bonds. He's just about done. He's just hanging on for another couple of home runs then he's calling it a career.

Thanks for the dumbass thread of the day, Jim.

C'mon folks how often are the Royals involved in a positive uplifting record these days?

If you knew anything about the team, instead of posting asinine threads like that, you would see that there are a lot of positive things going on with them right now.

Yeah that is looking like a gem of a trade right now.

Isn't it time for you daily appointment under Bill Self's desk?

K, I'll put you down as being in favor of only safe, no-risk trades for below-average Major League players, instead of high-risk high-reward "star or bust" types of trades.

Folks, I'm not all that excited about this pitcher either, but lets not overreact here. Apparently nothing better was offered, and there's no reason to keep a regularly-injured old setup man (he's not a closer for anyone but the Royals) on a young team seeking to rebuild.

Moore probably could have picked up a bench player or a kid who has low potential to be an average player someday. He instead took a project who has the stuff to be a legit #3 pitcher, with also a fairly likely risk of being a bust in a few years instead.

He basically had only a couple green chips with him at the casino (having left all his real money at home), and instead of the safe 90% chance of getting a small return, he put it all on the 25-1 horse. Its not like we really lost anything.

No patience. This place is gonna implode the first time Croyle has a 3 INT game. It might be the greatest meltdown of all time, and that might not be an exaggeration. Sports fans just have no patience with young players. There was a time where 90% of this board thought Larry Johnson was a bust.

Speaking of romance, how are you doing with GoChiefs out of town?

Chiefs fans have had almost 40. We're all still ticking.

Even the Chiefs never went 22 years without playoffs did they??

The Chiefs at least give their fans a smidgeon of hope. The Royals take about 1 week into the season to ruin the good will..

If you'd pay attention, there is a smidgeon of hope. This season as been very fun to watch.

I do pay attention. and yes, i do like the young players seem to be developing. But lets not get ahead of ourselves. This team still sucks in the big picture.

Except you have to watch with binoculars if you want to see the leaders.

I kinda understand that, then I don't. Chiefs fans have had pretty good patience I think. I have to think the next time the Chiefs are in the playoffs the fanbase is gonna be extremely cautious with expectations. The Chiefs have had some spectacularly devastating losses. Not just the "well we played hard and it wasn't quite good enough" type losses, more the "we're not gonna force a punt" or "we're not gonna get a first down" history making type losses that get replayed forever.

It'd be almost like the Royals getting into the playoffs and getting swept in the first round 3-0, and getting no-hit in games 1 and 3.
