I hadn't noticed this, but during NBC's Dateline they just did a commerical break.

12 straight commericals (13 if you include the "teaser" reminder commercial advertising the content of the upcoming segment) over 5 minutes.

WTF is up with that?!? What happened to "2 minutes and 2 seconds"?

Do they have fewer commerical breaks now? Or do they just 2-3x as many commericals now?

The average show used to be 48 minutes. It is now down to 42 minutes.

I have noticed the Dateline type shows on all networks run even more commercials than normal programs.

I almost never watch live tv anymore... and they're onto that, because now they aren't just doing in-show ads about other shows. The other day they were flashing something at the bottom of the screen about the new Bourne movie. Then you have FX, who destroys good moments of movies with the sounds of the crap going across the screen.

Too many and too long.... I try to record whatever it is I want to watch and usually fast forward thru all that garbage.
