The Vega GT was a pretty snappy looking little ride.

Meh, the Vega had the ill-fated aluminum block engine. I used to have a Mercury Bobcat, which was the luxury version of the Pinto. It had a V-6 engine and could do awesome brakestands.

Vegas milage to the gallon of gas was good, miles to the quart of oil was terrible. Pintos made for a nice barbeque if you got rear-ended.

The Pinto begat the Mustang II, which should be enough for it to get trounced in any sort of "vs." discussion.

I think they came with an inline six...

A buddy of mine in HS had one...I had a pinto wagon...but always wanted a Vega wagon with a 327..

Oh yes...I remember it well.
Wasn't it in reference from confusing it with another luxury car?

I'm pretty sure that there are better, and cheaper, means of travel then piggy back rides from Bob Dole.

Stevie and I both have an affinity for vans.
Though I sold this one, it would have made a suh-weet Chiefs van. Never knew it at the time.
