Season Ticket has never done preseason to my knowledge Troy, the sales rep was very straightfoward about that when I signed up several years ago. Basically if it ain't regular season Sunday game it ain't on the Ticket.

If you have the "Ticket" with Direct TV then you have the NFL channel. You just have to wait until 9:30 to watch the game like the rest of us that don't live in the KC area. Anyway I have classes until 9 so it actually works out pretty good. :thumb:

According to Cox in Topeka, we are not supposed to be blocked out of the KC broadcast this week. Like the BS they pulled last week. They carry all the KC channels on our local cable service and KMBC in KC was carrying the game last week. KMBC does this every single year the game is on ESPN and they had NEVER blocked the game out before. They can take that FCC ruling and shove it.

Series 1s needed a phone line.
Series 2s needed a phone line for the initial setup only, then you could use broadband to get updates. Later Series2s could have software patches installed to allow wireless setup as well.
Series3 (HD) models do not require phone lines.

You can pick up a used Series2 pretty cheap on ebay, but make sure that you get the TSN (Tivo Service Number) to verify the account is in good standing. Much like cell phones, you can get stuck with a bill.

The HD Series 3 just came out about a month ago and is $299 (but can be found for $270). It had dual-tuners so you can record and watch 2 programs at once.

As far as the actual service updating, Series2s support a lot of USB wifi adapters, but the Series3s only support the Tivo G adapter. I believe all Series2 and 3 can be connected by ethernet if you don't have wifi.

also, you may consider buying it from Tivo.com. They offer 3 years of prepaid service for $299 (effectively a year free).

Outstanding. I have less and less free time so if I am in front of the tube I want to be watching something good. If it comes down to planning my life around when something I want to watch is on I might as well not even have a TV.

You can use Series2s to play downloaded shows from the web (after a simple file conversion) or send a show from your bedroom tivo to your living room tivo.

Series3 can't do that at this time, but it is expected by the end of the year. They're negotiating rights with regulators regarding the HD content.

Big Daddy,

Don't get a standalone TiVO if you have DirecTV. The quality is terrible.

Call them up, ask to speak to retention and tell them you received an offer for a freen HD Dvr from dishnetwork to switch. They will more than likely offer you the new HR20-100 HD Dvr for shipping costs.

Do this when you're ready to move.

Columbia will have it on KMIZ-17, w00t! Bonus is there is another game on Fox 11. I will be able to flip to the other game during commercials just like the regular season. Its like pre-season training for me too!
