Ryan Jensen Vs. Thales Leites http://www.cdn.sherdog.com/fightfinder/Pictures/THALLES_LEITE.jpg

Koscheck has a chance. GSP is going to come out fired up to prove the Serra thing didn't happen. If Kos can stand up through the first couple of minutes GSP may start doubting himself. If Kos makes it out of the first round, GSP is going to have some serious mental things to get through and he may be exhausted.

Should be a good fight. Kos knows he has nothing to lose and everything to gain. GSP can't win much here without quickly destroying Kos.

It was some good action. My feeling is someone is going to die pretty soon because they let some unguarded blows go way to far. When a person doesn't look like they can protect themselves they still let a lot of punches. It was good action though. I liked the gsp kos one. Good ground game 1st round then stand up the 2nd. I wish someone would have done the complete package and be boxing one second and then shoot the legs.

Maybe in the past, but now it is a legitimate sport. It is very technical and almost all fighters have a great amount of skill. Noone has ever died while participating in the sport, unlike boxing, and because the fight is stopped when one participant can't intelligently defend himself, there is no lingering brain damage like boxing.

Maybe you should learn more about the actual sport before making a statement that is ten years too late.

And I bet you are a republican. Am I right? Lets hope so.

Chuck hit Randy perfect. Don't be surprised if Randy goes after that title again. If I was going to guess I would think they would give Tim his rematch next. I don't know what's going on with Fedor right now but he needs to do something. I would love to see him fight Randy. They are trying to sign Brock Lesner right now but I don't see them throwing him in with Randy right away. I think dude is going to get killed. The signing of Wanderlei is going to make the light heaveyweight division really interesting now. All this with Randy still fighting at 44 is going to make for an interesting ending to his career. One thing is for sure, these last two fights have made Randy an ICON in MMA forever now. Couldn't have happened to a more worthy guy IMO.

Not sure how legit it is, its the simple oddity of a person enjoying brutality. We see far too much of these sorts of things that show how inhuman people can be. Is that something that is ever legit?

Yes I would consider myself to be Republican but not sure I understand the connection.

MMA people are some of the nicest people you will ever meet in life. I suppose if you had it your way all martial arts competitions would be banned. Doesn't sound like a free country to me. YOu say you are a Republican but you must be a McCain type of Republican. One that does not believe in personaly freedoms or choice. Whether we are talking about education or entertainment you seem to have a socialist value system where you think you know what's best for everyone. MMA is the fastest growing sport in the world right now. I few years ago nobody knew about it. Getting my coffee today several people were talking about the UFC fights this weekend. I think it's friggen great.

HonestChieffan
08-27-2007, 10:40 AM
Certainly not socialist at all. No idea where you would jump to that conclusion. But nevertheless the point is more aimed at how some people can derive some perverse pleasure from watching a violent event.

You don't know where I got it? LMAO I just told you. Maybe preverse in your eyes. Combat competitions are fun and very challenging both physically and mentally. The guys at the Dojo are some fo the best people you will ever meet in life, they will do anything for you. It's a brotherhood you become a part of that is not easy to find anywhere in life. It doesn't surprise me that you have no idea what I'm talking about. The fact that you find martial arts preverse says a lot about you.

Well, now I know why you can't see the connection between your initial post and my thoughts on you probably being a republican.

There really not not anything brutal about an MMA fight. There are cuts sometimes, and blood, but nothing brutal. Michael Vick is not involved in MMA.

Have you ever watched olympic wrestling? MMA is similar imo. Have you ever watched any BJJ? The level of skill involved is tremendous, and it is exciting to watch. I do not watch to see people get beat up, and I would guess that true MMA fans are the same way.

But, I would say if you don't like it, don't watch it, and if you don't know anything about it, don't post on a thread about it. Wait...............you are a republican.

I supose. I just dont quite see the violence in football as the same as in this cage fighting thing. They have tried to clean it up to make it acceptable since the early days but the end result is its now a staged deal owned by some outfit in LasVegas. I cannot help but to think its a new twist on pro wrestling only more nasty with this cage thing.

Its hard to give it real credibility when its used as a draw at the KC semipro baseball games and it has to buy time on obscure media outlets.

so.... you don't consider football violent? Your Y chromosome should kick in any minute now. you've been watching violence for your entire adult life and then some. It's hypocritical to call one sport brutal and not admit that you watch something that is equally violent.
