Michigan drops from #5 to #33. That has to be an unprecedented freefall.

Where is KState? If they weren't homered by the officials the other night, they would have won!

How many do-overs did Auburn get?

In all seriousness, I was impressed how they played that game on the road.

Yeah, my friend and I were guessing how far they would drop, but neither thought it would be that far. Wow.

I noticed that, and KState isn't even in the also ran catagory this week. I was very impressed by the Wildcats.

That 15/25 second bullshit after KState had stopped them on 4th and 1 really ticked me off.

KState will make some believers out of people this year IMO.

The 15/25 second thing didn't bother me at all, Tuberville was right. They called a timeout, so they get 25 seconds, not 15. 15 seconds is after the TV timeouts.

What bothered me were the 2 penalties on Auburns go ahead TD drive. The roughing the punter and the phantom facemask. Plus the offensive facemask call, i've never seen that called.

But, when it's all said and done you can't blame the loss on penalties. I'm glad we hung around with a good SEC team, wish we could have got the win.

Do you really believe you can't blame that loss on penalties? We both agree on the facemask and roughing calls. I know he was right on the 15/25 call, but it still pissed me off after the Cats stuffed the 4th down play.

What was the penalty differential between the two teams? I saw zero make up calls and felt the game was poorly officiated, something I didn't expect in a nationaly televised prime time game.

I think KState did more than hang around, they were winning most of the game.

Nah, there was another one where the Auburn ballcarrier was tackled by the shoulder pads and they were given a 15 yard facemask penalty.

You should be blaming KState's coaches for not giving that left tackle any help blocking. He was getting schooled so bad that it was a joke. He looked like Svitek out there. :shake:

I don't believe you can blame ANY loss on penalties/fouls. The Cats ran out of gas in the final moments, our defense couldn't get a rush on the QB and our O-Line couldn't hold up against Auburns D-Line. Auburn has way more depth than KSU, and it showed.

He got schooled in the final 5 minutes of the game against an all-conference caliber DE. (Quintin Groves).

We gave up 2 sacks. This loss wasn't on coaching, Prince came prepared.

Heh. What was funny was the guy that got tackled by the shoulderpads did the exact same thing as our WR did with the "offensive facemask" call.

I wonder if they crack the Top 25 after waltzing through the rest of their cupcake non-con schedule. :hmmm:

Who cares about the non-conference schedule? K-State was the master of scheduling cupcakes for years. No one considered CMU a cupcake and KU handed them their jockstraps.

Uh, pretty much everyone considered CMU a cupcake, except for KU fans. It's a directional Michigan school.

And yes, K-State scheduled just as bad if not worse than KU, but at least we showed a pulse during conference play.

That's your game right there, not penalties.

Depth of talent is why Michigan came roaring back in the second half after being pretty well dominated in the first by App State. Remember, an App State wideout dropped a wide open TD at the goal line, and I believe they missed a field goal too. It could have been much worse.

Depth of talent is why Clemson couldn't do shit in the second half and FSU made it a game late.

Admittedly the Auburn - K-State game was a lot closer than those other two examples, but I think in the end more talent was on the home half of the field. There were some bad calls, but I don't think there's serious cause for inquiry.

No, there were a lot of people in a thread several months ago who even predicted CMU to win that game, even laughing at KU fans who had it chalked up in July. They've got some all conference talent on their team, and if KU is supposedly as weak as you all are and were alluding to, would they have not made it a much closer game?
