This season as the only player in history to rush for 1700 yards in three consecutive years. I predict he'll break 2000. I know, I know he won't get the touches he got last year but that's OK. He only needs 106.25 per week to touch 1700. He'll get that on 15 carries a game.

homer....by your math LJ would have to avg around 7 ypc for that to happen.

He could still pull down 1700 easy if he survives the injury bug. 2000 is a big goal though.

I think he's got a chance for another 1700-yard season.

My crystal ball shows LJ pulling off several big runs of 50 + this year. While the opposing team is laughing at our O-Line, LJ makes a break for it.

I thought this was going to be "LJ to carry the ball 500 times".

He seems to have slimmed down a little. Expect more explosions out of the backfield

LJ 1700+
Bennett 500.
Smith 200.

I'm hoping Bennett has closer to 650.

I think Bennett will take more carries than last year, obviously, and he is going to be slowed up a bit by the fact that the defense only has to defend the first 15 yards of the field or so.

LJ 1700+
Bennett 400.

Oh man if this isn't a homer prediction I don't know what is.

Given the following...

No Willie Roaf - When LJ averaged 5.2 yards per carry.
No Will Shields - HOF RG when LJ averaged 4.3 yards per carry.
The history of RBs who get either hurt or have a down year Coming off of moster carry years.

I don't see how you can predict that.

I don't want this to happen but I think LJ will either get hurt or have a down year of 1400-1500 yards... Still a big year but down from what we expect from Larry.

LJ 1700+
Bennett 500.
Smith 200.

if that happens we'll go deep in the playoffs.

or have a down year of 1400-1500 yards... .

hahah...LJ may be the only back who could have 1400-1500 yards be considered a down year.

I would take that any day of the week. It would mean hes getting less carries and or we are passing the ball more.

I didn't mention Colquitt punt records and Medlock's FGs

I think LJ will get that record, buuut I don't know about getting 2000+ yards. I think he can do it, but I don't know if he will, unless they have a better passing game this year. LJ will get more carries than what Herm says though, otherwise we won't be winning many games.

After watching film of the Texans laughing at our O-Line, other teams will learn to laugh in shifts... say, 4 at a time, while the other 6 in the box go after LJ and the safety listens to his iPod while watching film of next week's opponent at the 50 yard line.

in all seriousness, teams that have THAT much success running the ball almost always have deep runs in the playoffs. as much as this team will likely puke up their guts, they're built for 'success' in the traditional nfl sense. in the 80's and 90's, when the nfc ate the afc's lunch every year in the super bowl, they did it with running and defense.

I'll call it now. if we have a top three rushing team and a top 7 defense (which is possible with our personnel), we'll go to the second round of the playoffs at least, possibly deeper if herm can not poop in his hat. teams with our 'strengths' traditionally do very well, fwiw

(although I'll say this: I want a true rebuild, and wouldn't complain at all if we had a 5-11 season. it's what our team really needs, a true rebuild. we aren't getting that on 8-8)

When LJ gets hurt this year...Chiefsplanet will implode

And then people will be crying for Priest Holmes...

And still the bandwagoneers will be making post after post calling out EVERY player on the roster..and the coaches...and Carl...

Or if LJ did happen to get hurt, maybe Bennett or Smith will bust out since we've been having a pretty good tradition of good RB's.

On the 3 carries he got during the Rams game, I thought I saw him juking a little bit more, maybe he's been watching LT tape and take his game to a whole nother level. Training in AZ might have improved his quickness or agility. Our team is gonna surprise, forget all this preseason stuff.

Yup no doubt he's set the bar pretty high.

But how would he get that 1400 I suppose is the bigger question.

Would it be at a 4.3 yards per carry average like last year? Better? Possibly worse?

I'm hoping he can raise that 4.3 average as 4.3 isn't special by any means but I'm skeptical he'll do that.

You are a tool. LT misses blocks also.

Bennett will be hurt by the 6th game. Priest gets activated & won't get the carries that Bennett would have
