With all the doom and gloom revolving around the chiefs....I have to throw some love towards the Royals.

With 23 games left...if they can go 11-12, the Royals will not only break the 100-loss season streak, but finish with less than 90 losses also. Obviously, not a great team, but they've made some strides towards respectability this year.

Another interesting stat:

When was the last time the Royals had a 3-game series this late in the season - and all 3 of our starters have an E.R.A under 4.00?

Meche 3.85
Bannister 3.16
Grienke 3.87

Some hope for the future....

a swing like that is huge in baseball considering that if we had a dominate person like arod on our team we would have only won like 4 more games last year statiscally. the royals are playing young guys. Gordon is going to hit one out of the k next year. Over the hot dog stand over everything

When was the last time the Royals and Chiefs were both average or mediocre in the same year ?

I agree. I think next year, we might be able to go .500. At least, I really hope so.

I think we should have some sort of Royals' tailgate next week, just to, you know...well...drink...but also to say Cheers, things are actually looking up!

The last time I think was during the Reagan administration. :)

I am excited about this young team and this time I mean it.

I think we will be a .500 team with a decent pen and the starters coming around, thats the key. The younger guys will have a season/partial season under their belt as well. Im excited to see what butler and gordon can do next year as well. Direction is moving forward.

if we can take the next step with a new manager, the Royals should continue to improve.

If the Royals from here were to lose 23 games in a row, we'd finish with the exact same number of wins as last year - 62.

Props to the the Royals. Now if they just lose the next three games I will be much obliged.
