I think he showed promise today. Yes, he dropped 1 or 2? But he showed the ability to make tough catches in traffic and adjust on a ball.

Had some key drops but really showed a lot...made some nice catches. I think we have something good if he keeps putting in the work getting better...

82 did good work.

Yep. He had flashes not too bad for a rookie

He dropped passes, but those WERE tough catches. He made that one amazing catch while going down and getting hit at the same time.

His catching is going to improve. He has ability.

Bowe and Sippio will be #1 and #2 in 2008 :p

had to listen on the radio, but it sounds like a good start for a rook...he has the tools.....

He showed some definite skills, but his drop ending the first drive has to be made.

Am I missing something? He dropped half the passes that came his way.

I'm optimistic that he'll develop, but I didn't think he was great today, or even close.

He wasnt great today, but he showed promise.

He was officially, 3 for 42 yards.

He had too many drive-killing drops.

After the first series he was actually pretty bad.

I was really glad to see Damon looking for him early and often.

As I stated several times before the draft, Bowe had problems dropping the ball in college. While he had (by my count) 3 drops today, he made some nice grabs and a great catch on that long ball.

I wasn't in favor of drafting him, but he looked good for his 1st game today and as long as he keeps improving I'll be pleased.

Bowe LOOKED like a first-rounder. That was the most important thing to me.

Yeah. Depending solely on progression - looks like we may ACTUALLY have a #1 WR on the roster soon.

It doesn't really count as a "drop" when you're diving after a poorly thrown ball, or when the DB swats it out at the last second. People seem to counting every pass thrown at Bowe that wasn't caught as a drop, but only 1 or 2 actually were.

He clearly dropped 2 and the 3rd was iffy. OTOH, Samie didn't drop a single pass today which was good to see (especially if Kennison is out for a while).

Samie dropped a slant. It was a little high, but it hit his hands.

Bowe played alright.

I was really impressed with that one catch he made where Damon Huard underthrew him and he had like 2 guys on him, and he to adjust bring coming in and snaring the ball.

But then he had his share of drops.

there were a couple of passes thrown his way that shoulda been caught, but then again, he's a rookie. I expect mistakes.

Just hope he gets better.

Kennison on the other handHow the heck do you pull a hammy on the first play from scrimmage. Unbelievable.

Good thoughts in this thread.

Probably too early to pass judgement on Bowe. But I did notice that he played much better as the game progressed. I'm hoping his poor performance early was first game jitters.

The play where he adjusted to Huards garbage was amazing.

Kennison is not going anywhere this season. If anyone is out to the crowd favorite Sippio, it will be Webb. He did not produce, and he gave the other team the ball.

Who I was impressed with was Parker. Maybe he will FINALLY pull his head out of his rectum. After his nice performance today, dreams of him getting cut are proabably out.

Has anyone been around to see these guys prepare? If I were to spend that much money on players, I would make damn sure they are stretched out and warmed up properly. My guess it was insufficient warm up.

Injuries happen in weird ways no matter how well your body is prepared.

Not a complete waste of a draft pick, but not a superstud either. He ain't no Torry Holt or Steve Smith, let alone a Marvin Harrison.

Good luck finding a Steve Smith in his first game as a rookie being the #23 pick.

Bowe is the real deal. With EK's injury, he may get some touches. He's a beast in YAC. Great draft pick. Now, take a lesson from Keyshawn johnson's rookie year, Dwayne:

Gimme the damn ball.

Dwayne Bowe doesn't compare to those types of wide receivers because he's...not that type, anyway. He's Michael Irvin...big body, tough, breaks tackles....

You need to relax. The guy did GREAT for a rookie in his first game. A lot of rookie wide receivers look completely lost...he took some hits and didn't fumble the ball...that's what impressed me.

I didn't get to see KC's game today. How well did Bowe run his routes?Fair, not really a crisp route runner. He is a beast after the catch though, that is where Clayton comparing him to Irvin makes some sense.

Was. Steve Smith is a legitimate Pro Bowl WR.

Good luck finding that with a #23 pick in ONE game with a limp-wrist QB and a scared OC.
