It's too bad that I'm not a moderator, becuase I would just simply lock this thread becuase it lacks any merit of a argument from you.

Just jokin man...chill out....it is a little concerning that this is the part of the year they should be playing better, not worse...

Cardinals dropped four in a row. Today they lost to Chicago, sealing my doom in a colors bet.

Tomorrow I have to wear a f#cking Cubs hat during lunch.

Heh, I know you're joking Yankee Fan. I just couldn't pass up to torment you. :D

It is concerning that they should be playing better, but keep in mind that there are some first timers on this team, and they're probably pretty tired, you know?

Oh god....i hate the Yankees. BTW, here is a great story from JoPo the other day about the hatred between the Yankees and Royals back in the 70s.....love the quote from Brett at the end:

“I don’t hate those individual guys anymore. But I still hate the Yankees. I can’t help it. That’s just inside me.”

Well 3 of the 6 was to the Yankees who have owned the Royals lately. The Texas and Twins yes I am little more concerned about but this team is way better than what has been trotted out their this decade.

Meche-Riske-Soria usually equals a W. Why the **** does Bell keep on starting Jason Smith at SS? Why can't this organization ever fill that gap? Why do we always get the bums like Neifi Perez and Angel Berroa there?

No the question is why is Pena not in there every day?

If you dropped them out of your cloaca, then yes, you are.

Aside from Pena's defensive prowress, he is a piece of shit. He hacks at every single first pitch. Just about all of his counts he gets down 0-2. He has got to lead the teams in foul balls. Once he actually gets to 0-2 he actually starts hitting for contact, gets chop hits ala Joey, and becomes a better hitter. It is really something else. It is simply pathetic his plate discipline. The worst I've seen. He has potential to be a good hitter if he wasn't mentally retarded. The guy has 500 abs with only 10 walks. Out of ANYBODY on the team with 60 or more at bats, he has by far the worst on base percentage.

I think we just need to buy a SS or bring up Aviles in the offseason. I don't think Pena is good for the long haul. He is a good defensive shortstop no lie, but he his a horrible hitter. Even when he was batting like .284, he still wasn't getting on base, and it was obvious it was a anamaly.

Agreed. Pena is more of a utility player/defensive specialist.

Well in case you forgot your SS is on your team for defense not offense. Which is why he bats 9th.

That is true, but SS's are becoming better hitters everyday. It's the trend. I'd be willing to take a slight drop off in defensive ability for a much better hitter. Overall, it would be a plus if we could do that.

They need to make baseball like football, with guys who play offense only and guys who play defense only!

Also, tackling!
