Medlock isn't making the Practice Squad?

That's an excellent question. I don't know what the story behind that is.

Herm himself said that's what he intended to do, but there's no way any team in the NFL comes within a mile of him over the next 12 months.

It might be possible that the Chiefs continue to work him out privately in some way without him taking up a PS spot, secured in the knowledge that nobody wants to pick him up.

Yeah, I've been watching my email for the official announcement. I don't know what's going on.

Perhaps Medlock opted out of the PS opportunity.

Thats what I remember too ...and I think you may be right...Kinda like we did with Tynes when we had Anderson....I would just feel better if he was on the PS

That's what I'm thinking.

I don't see why he'd do that.

No other team is going to place him on their 53.

That would be a strange turn of events.
Did he graduate from UCLA? He may have decided to go home and pursue his 9-5 career.

Why would he pass on the practice squd for a 9-5? he'd make 75k a year, not bad at all.

Further proof he is a head case?

I'm just speculating, Mr. Sure-Oz. Still, if I were Medlock, I might be a little pissed about getting cut after the first game for a kicker with a career FG percentage just a tad over 70%.

Maybe because he'd rather be unemployed than work for this band of clowns...

true ...... but being on the practice squad keeps his name in the NFL market.

you lose that and any chance of a future signing drops like a rock.

the only rational reason for him to turn down a PS offer is 1. he's gonna just quit football all together or 2. he has some tryouts planned with other teams and wants to workout for them before agreeing to a PS allocation.

Only 19 years and counting under Carl's watch. What's the hurry?

Play Dave Rayner until he gets higher value. Trade for a 1-2 yr. OL or DB. Put Medlock back in the fold. That's CP borrowing from the Royals' player development "hand"-book. :whackit:

Medlock is retiring. There will be a press conference tomorrow and at halftime of the Vikings game they're adding him to the Ring of Honor.

I agree, although I highly doubt he's ready to give up on football just yet.
