View Full Version : Have you grown a hatred towards the Chiefs?

I know most of us are frustrated, and pissed off.

But Im just talking in general.

Like over the years. I know I love to watch football and I always have rooted for the Chiefs.

But when I say a grown hatred, I refer to the fact how this team has done nothing but given us constant disappointments over the years. Like zero playoff wins, no superbowls, failure to draft and develop good players, keeping the same GM, failure to hire a "Balanced" coach, the list goes on and on.

What Im referring to is the way this organization operates as a whole. You know keeping the same GM running the show when it is clear the bottomline is he has provided us nothing but failure.

As a fan, Im pissed off and dissapointed. But yet it seems like ownership is content with the job Carl has done during his tenure here?

I've heard around here that Clark wants to win, well if he does then why did he give Carl a contract extension?

I know this MAY sound stupid, and Im probably gonna get criticized...But hey bash away, I might deserve it... In a way I hope this franchise pays for there sorry asses. the fans aren't getting what they want, it is clear some of us aren't happy. So with that being said, out of pure hate, I hope they finish 1-15...and lose fanbase this year, next year, and the next and so on. I will laugh in the process just at the fact that we are a laughing stock...hey, were headed in that direction anyway? Especially with this coach and GM.

What Im saying is, maybe they need a cold slap in the face. And then maybe they can turn this franchise around?

*I will never believe that Clark wants to win till I see changes in the FO.

*I love the Chiefs, and I hate them too.

Ok I maybe I shouldn't say hatred.

what if the heat is too high cranked to the point where you burn too much inside emotionally?

The constant disappointments, and letdowns...Like zero playoff wins, no superbowls, consistent mediocrity, etc, etc. Like whats happening now.

The boiling point has reaked its peak, I want this front office cleared.

Sports are value added in my life. Wins and success of teams I support, and buy tickets for, make me really really happy, but I don't take on the losses and disappointments.

I often take the Chiefs express to games, and I'm always surprised by the negativity of fans, so I think alot of people do take on that disappointment pretty heavily.

I understand that perspective but then I look at the situation and realize we have a QB that will be retired in 3 years starting for us. Then I look back on history and see how the "bounced back" from a year like this with the same people running the show and lose all hope.

No problem with a bad season if the means justify the ends but I have no faith in the personal behind the scenes to be able to capitalize on this opportunity.

It's not as simple as the fans have no patience. Many of us do and are pretty much begging for a rebuild but it's tough to swallow when you have no faith in the brain trusts doing the rebuild.

I begged for a rebuild and although I'm not an football expert, judging by successful NFL teams a QB might be important in the whole rebuild process.

And I'm not looking to rehash the starting Huard argument for the 1000th time but the fact remains we have no QB getting experience when this is the time to do it.

From reading your post I think I can understand what you're saying.

I think you have a different outlook and less of an expectation. Perhaps you watch the games for entertainment, excitement only?

I know I've always wanted my team to win. Heck that is the purpose as to why I cheer for them? I guess that is why Im disappointed? Because I haven't seen enough success from the Chiefs. And I'll bet that is why others watch their team too, to see them win....And since we haven't seen that from the Chiefs, many of us come to known what to expect?

Maybe that is the reasoning of all the negativity?

None of the above.

Apathy.

I was a diehard when I was in high school and college, but I've learned over the years that it's not worth the disappointment and anger. Instead of getting pumped up for a game on the Tuesday before the game, if I get really pumped up for it, it's not until kickoff... then when it's over, it's not "why the hell did I spend this week getting my hopes up?!??!"

then you go out cheering.

Ah, yes... the fan who believes "true fan" = "glutton for punishment". These threads wouldn't be complete without it.

If I were going to hate this team it would have happened a long time before now. Obviously it is frustrating. If success is measured in championships (I'd say it is) then the Chiefs are one of the worst franchises in professional sports.....not just football, in all sports.

But I am a Chiefs fan. I got my Super Bowl when I was 11 years old, I was hooked and I'm still a junkie. They are my team and will be as long as I breathe.

But I wouldn't mind if they'd go ahead and win something now and again....like a playoff game for instance.

We've struggled every year basically since 1997 with the exception of 2003 and 2005.

This team has always let down the fans in one way or another. Whether it's scoring 30 points only to allow 31, or for the offense to suck nuts, when you haven't won a playoff game in 14 years - you are struggling.

I'll endure rebuilding if we actually have a plan and someone smart enough to execute the plan.

I don't think this team has any direction what so ever. They talk one way and do something completely the opposite.

This team really has no long term answers at O-line, cornerback, or defensive tackle. 3 of the most positions on a football team. The QB position is shaky at best.

It's just sickening.

Yep.

Even if the team does come together, probably strong on defense and sucking at offense, we still have no QB and will be hanging our hopes on some journey man from another team.

I've lost all hope in the people running the show and frankly don't care anymore. I don't plan on making time to watch any games and will pump no more currency into this team until Peterson in GONE.

And that is the most frustrating aspect of all, zero direction from this organization.

I'd have hope if I seen a sense of direction? But there is none.

And another thing that bothers me, is we've negated certain positions on this team for YEARS....It's like we can't address certain positions?

We haven't had a DT in over a decade.

We haven't had a REAL WR in years.

Carl Peterson sucks at drafting QB's. And we've never developed one either.

For the first time in almost 20 years for me the Chiefs have become almost unwatchable. From Marty to Goonther to Vermeil at least you knew the Chiefs would be interesting with either an explosive offense (Vermeil), an opportunistic defense that could create and score off turnovers (Marty) or a little of both (Goonther).

Now under Herm the Chiefs are just terrible. The offense is horrible, the defense is below average and the special teams is just plain bad. There really isn't anything to enjoy when it comes to watching this team.

What is Mangini's record as a head coach? 10-6 last year and 0-1 this year.

What is Herm's record with the Chiefs in that same period? 9-7 last year (with the starting QB injured), and 0-1 this year.

There is one win difference between the two, so what makes Mangini so much better than Herm?

To answer all three of you, the win/loss record is all that matters. If Mangini doesn't win more than Herm it doesn't matter if he is smarter or not. It doesn't matter if he has theoretical "upside". It doesn't matter if he has a "balanced" team. Winning is all that matters. And at this point he isn't looking any better than Herm.
