In every other instance I've ever seen, they time the timeout from the point the whistle is blown, not from the point the coach/player begins to make the signal. If the ref waited until after the snap, that field goal should have stood.

Especially when "the last possible second" is not determined by the amount of time left on the playclock, but by when the ball gets snapped. How do they know when the ball is going to be snapped? And how does the ref agree to call it without blowing the bloody whistle?

You should have seen me during our first SB run, when KC had the lead in our division and played the Raiders late in the season. It was an internal struggle of epic proportions. I couldn't do it. I just couldn't root for the Raiders to beat you guys.

Most of our team is 27 and younger. There's a few that are older, like Nalen, Lepsis and Lynch, but overall we're young and trying to find ourselves. New defensive coordinator, young QB playing in only his seventh game, there is no question we have a lot of kinks to work out and we probably won't get it all put together until late in the season.

I'm just laughing at all the Chief fans who say Shanahan cheated by calling a timeout and then said he was sneaky. The ref was watching the snap, so it was good. I mean calling a timeout for the kicker is one of the oldest tricks in the book. LOL

I will say this, though: The Raiders are much better this year. No more seven step drops with no O-line. Their line is better and their QB is better. Their zone-blocking is working for their rushing attack too.

That's been the key point of both games so far. I don't think our running game has been effective when we needed it to be. We need to run the ball to protect a lead and we need to run the ball better in the Red Zone, for starters.
