Would you rather:
(1) Be down by 4, with the ball on your 25 yard line, with 2:30 left in the 4th, with the 02-05 offense, or...
(2) Be up by 4, opponent has the ball on their 25, with 2:30 left in the 4th, with this year's defense?

(2) If you have confidence in your D, it's always better to put the pressure on the other team to score. Especially if they have to get in the endzone.

Interesting. I was just curious because I was talking to a friend about this scenario last night. However, we were talking about basketball. Would you rather have the last possession, or be defending the last possession.
I thought it could work in football too.
Great question, Mr. bobbything.
When the enemy does not have the ball, the chances of them scoring diminish considerably. And, I would have had extreme confidence in our offense to get the score.
I'd rather have the ball.

At home, it would not matter.
On the road, I'd rather the defense have the shot at securing the win.
