Is this always the case?

Just wait till someone opens one of those up and spills battery acid all over themselves.

If you try this, prepare to be disappointed.

Ugh, folks, please don't try this. It's a joke; one that could end badly.

Remember, AA batteries are 1.5 volts per battery. 1.5x32=48

If you open one up, you'll find that most contain four 'D' cell batteries.

I do know that inside of a 9 volt is 6 AAA batteries.

I have actually taken one apart when I was a kid.

Remember, AA batteries are 1.5 volts per battery. 1.5x32=48

First you wire four in series:

1.5 v * 4 = 6 V

Then you put 8 groups of four in parallel to increase current. So it is feasible.

But that's not how the vast majority of those 6 V batteries are made. The video may be real or a hoax, I'm not prepared to say. But if you open up a random 6 V battery, you are very unlikely to spill out 32 AA batteries.

That may be fake, too. I did this when I was a wee lad, and it did contain four batteries, but they weren't D cells.

This reminds me: I need to put some kitty food on a spare 9V battery and show it to the wife's cat.

hmmm.... perhaps it is only with certain lantern batteries and not just any ol' battery off the shelf.

Kinda what I was thinking. I'm certain that the 32 app. is real, at least with some manufaturers. A lot of things can be faked but I don't see this being one that anybody would want to. I mean; WHY?
