LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) - The Chicago Bears terminated Obafemi Ayanbadejo's contract Monday, cutting ties with the fullback who had just completed a four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on anabolic steroids and related substances.

Ayanbadejo signed a one-year contract with the Bears in June after spending the previous three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. The suspension ended after Sunday's game at Detroit.

Ayanbadejo insisted when the NFL suspended him in August that he did not take steroids, did not knowingly "infringe on the rules of the NFL performance-enhancing drug policy," and that he had passed "60-plus drug tests and never failed one."

"I've never had a problem at any level - collegiately, in the NFL," he said at the time.

Ayanbadejo said he used a product called Max LMG, which decreases estrogen levels and boosts testosterone, for three weeks in January. He got tested that month, learned in April that he had failed and had an appeal hearing a few days before training camp opened.

Now in his ninth season, Ayanbadejo has 513 yards rushing, 885 receiving and eight touchdowns, but he has specialized in special teams play. His brother Brendon is a Bears linebacker and special-teams standout.

since our running game complete sucks, and the chiefs don't think Grigsby is even worth putting in on short yardage, we might as well take a look.

Or maybe, just maybe, Tony Richardson.
