No. Absolutely nothing this team does this year short of making the playoffs and winning a game in the playoffs will shock me this year. In fact, I'm already pleasantly surprised. That win in San Diego was more than I expected out of this team.

Mr. Laz
10-02-2007, 05:08 PM
nope .... jacksonville is a very physical team with some tough defensive tackles.

John Henderson Ht: 6-7 Wt: 335
Marcus Stroud Ht: 6-6 Wt: 310
Casey Wiegmann Ht: 6-2 Wt: 285 (with a 10lb weight in his pocket)

wiegmann is gonna need help on every play which means our guards can't help our tackles. Our tackles aren't that great to begin with.

we are going to have to throw the ball big time to set up the run.

The only team I would be suprised if they were beat would be the patriots. I wouldn't be suprised if we win either.

I wouldn't be "shocked". These next two games are against good teams and could have huge playoff implications come weeks 14-17, if last year was any indication. I think we'll be ready, though. Never underestimate the power of Arrowhead.

I would be surprised if Jacksonville comes in and beats the Chiefs.

The teams are evenly matched, but this game is being played in Arrowhead Stadium.

I'm gonna say yes & heres why.

A) We owe these bastards, revenge is a VERY powerful motivator.

B) This is a more talented & cohesive team than the one that lost to them last year...because of the draft, FA's & time in the new system/philosophy.

C) The newfound confidence of having dug out of an ugly hole...on the road...against a division foe & didnt just eke out a win but pounded'em. This was a MAJOR hurdle that needed to be cleared.

D) Arrowhead is going to Rick-Dickulous.

Maybe I didn't understand your post, but we beat these guys last year. Bernard Pollard blocked punt, etc.

I was at the Jaguars/Chiefs game last year. Yes, I would be shocked if we lost this one. I think we match up perfectly with them. Chiefs win 20-13.

I don't wish that upon you. Actually, the Bears fans have shut up since we now have a better record, and beat San Diego. :p

Actually, it won't be that bad. There are only about 6 or 7 Jag fans in the city. Everyone else here just follows the Gators and Seminoles and could give 2 sh*ts about NFL football.

ROFL Sounds very much like San Diego.

To be honest, most of my Bear's fan friends acknowledge we could have won that game.

I had to vote "yes", Mr. Dr. Doom. The defense is coming into its own. Our young safeties have gotten some valuable playing time. DJ is finally becoming the player his talent promised. The crowd will be a major factor. Bowe, TG, and LJ and the o-line are gaining confidence in the offense. This is the week we play with a lead and allow the defense to dominate.

Flapjacks for everybody!

Yes, I would be extrememly shocked.. Why? Week 2, Defense, Offense, players, coaches, fans - finally knew that this team had potential and could stay with a great team in their home field, Chiefs wasted opprotunities and Mr Hester killed us.

Week 3 - Fans, Chiefs, coaches, won an ugly game by coming from behind at Arrowhead against an average team at best. Came back and pulled off the victory.

Wee 4 - This team finally understands that they are FOR REAL. The halftime of the San Diego game is gonna be the turning point of this year. Mark my words. Do people not understand what the Chiefs did in week 4??? We came back with 24 str8 points and shut down mightly SAND DIEGO IN THEIR HOME FIELD!!!!!

Week 5 - The Chiefs will blow out the Jaguars. Arrowhead will be rocking, the defense is gonna make front cover and headlines on every channel. The Offense will be riding high and confident. There is no way the Chiefs will lose next game.

And I'm gonna be there to witness it.

I think that bodes well for us, apparently the jagoffs have been relying on the pass this year because of a inexplicably weak running game.

That kind of Mud & Blood smashmouth game favors the hometeam IMO, especially when we have an elite power back.

Please dude... We have DownField Big Game... We will throw the ball!

When we win the Superbowl this year, will Huard get the vote for MVP?

I won't be shocked, the Jags are a great team. Our one weakness on defense has been our run defense, and the Jags proved last year against Indianapolis they know how to exploit a weak run defense.

Fortunately, I don't think our run defense is as bad as there's was last year, and we have a great defense once the QB starts to become unsure of himself...so I think we have a great chance to keep the Jags from scoring a lot of points.

Offensively, this could be the week things start to click in both halves...I think LJ can have a decent game, because I fully expect the Chiefs to establish the passing game in the first half...

Bowe is playing with a ton of confidence, and the addition of Eddie Kennison won't hurt anything, and the Jags have got to be gameplanning against the run...teams still are going to try to force us to beat them through the air...

We'll see...

Right now I predict a 24-16 win.

"Shocked", no not really. This is still a young team, anything can happen. But I would be suprised, I think they are on a roll and going into Arrowhead will help.

Herm's teams (and the Chiefs in general) traditionally have a problem coming out flat in road games against inferior, non-division opponents.

The only thing that would shock me this year is if we won a first round (or beyond) playoff game. So far there's really been no consistency in the Chiefs' play, so it's hard to figure out what they're going to do any given week. As inconsistent and unpredictable as the rest of the league has been also (see San Diego, Chicago and Cleveland) it's way to hard to figure out what the hell is going to happen this year.

It is the NFL, why would anyone be "shocked". Raiders are tied for 1st, Cleveland is 4th in scoring, Bucs are leading their division, Saints haven't won a game, the best RB's from last year are looking mediocre...

Seriously, shocking is such a poor choice of words as to make you thinking, "66% not shocked at a potential home loss is not good.", is just down right ridiculous.

Chief Faithful

I won't be shocked, the Jags are a great team.

That is it right there how can you be shocked when a very good team wins? What would shock me is if the Chiefs did not play hard for 60 minutes.

I always predict a Chiefs victory and only get disappointed when the team quits. Remember the game in Atlanta that ended Gun's term as HC?

Chiefnj2
10-03-2007, 08:40 AM
It should be a good game and a good measure of KC's run defense. Unless the game is out of hand Del Rio will stick with the run. He won't abandon his backs like Norv did in the 2nd half.

I expect them to lose. There's a lot of tendencies this team has shown over the 8-9 years I've followed them, and one of them is losing games like this. That said, winning at SD last week went against an established tendency, so hopefully they can manage to surprise me two weeks in a row.
