View Full Version : Let's sort this out: where do the LBs rank?

Off the top of my head, there are maybe a handful of LB squads I can think of that I'd take over DJ/Harris/Edwards.

Ravens (Johnson/Lewis/Scott)
Bears (Hillenmeyer/Urlacher/Briggs)

Those are the obvious ones.

Any others you could legitimately want to take over the Chiefs'?

Are we limiting this to 4-3 teams?

No, but I can't think of any 3-4 teams that top the Chiefs. The Pats are thin at LB, the Chargers have nothing on the inside...

Although the Steelers are stacked. Alright, so there's a third.

Well, a lot of people consider the Steelers LBs system LBs. What the hell has any Pittsburgh linebacker in the last 10 years done after they left that system??

I'd take our TRIO over the Ravens.

Believe it or not (I know the guy has huge hype/big name), but Harris is outplaying Ray Lewis, and while Scott may be the best of them all, Edwards and DJ is a better duo than Scott and... err... whoever the hell Johnson is.

We're one of the best.

One of the keys will be finding and developing a good replacement for Edwards.

Ummm, we are talking about the steelers LBs right now.

Whether its the system or not is irrelevant.

That's not really fair.

I mean, Vrabel is a wide receiver who lines up as a LB.

Face it, 7 receptions, 7 touchdowns. He's on a better pace than Bo was when he was here.

ROFL

Chunkiest damn wide receiver I've ever seen.

edit- With the possible exception of David Boston.

I don't know if these teams have better LBs then the Chiefs, but they are damn good:

Washington: M. Washington, L. Fletcher, R. McIntosh

Dallas: G. Ellis/A. Spencer, B. James, A. Ayodele, D. Ware

GB: B. Poppinga, N. Barnett, A. Hawk

Seattle: L. Hill, M Tatupa, J. Peterson

Tampa Bay: C. June, B. Ruud, D. Brooks

Jacksonville: C. Ingram, M. Peterson, D. Smith

Oakland: T. Howard, K. Morrison, S. Williams

SD. S. Merriman, M. Wilhelm, S. Cooper, S. Phillips

Baltimore: J. Johnson, R. Lewis, B. Scott

NE. M. Vrabel, T. Bruschi. A. Thomas, R. Colvin

Pittsburgh: C. Haggans, J. Farrior, L. Foote, J. Harrison

There are a lot of teams with good LBs. The difference between KC and a lot of other LB corps right now, is that we don't seem to have a weak link. Any of our starting LBs, depending on how things land, could put up Pro Bowl worthy stats.

If it wasn't for Poppinga I'd take the Packers.

In a 4-3 D I'd take Oakland's LBs over anyone elses. Morrison and Howard are damn good. Honestly I think Morrison might be the best MLB in the NFL. Williams is a bit of a weak link but is still solid. Whenever I watch them they are all over the field making plays.

Plus they are still very young.

We'll we know who isn't.

IK don't think the Bungles have 3 LBs on their roster.

Our defense is not very good against the run, ranking around 20th in yards per game and yards per carry. I don't think you can claim to have elite LB when you rank that low against the run.
