That enclosure actually has two hard drives in it in a RAID 0 configuration. In other words, if one of them takes a crap, you lose everything.

Had a friend that bought one of those and that happened. Just thought you should know that hard drives can and do fail, and if you rely on that big sucker you are likely to lose a LOT of porn.

Yep Hard Drives can fail. That's why I keep all my data inscribed in Cuneiform on clay tablets in an earthquake-proof vault.

It's a real pain in the ass for the scribes, but that is the way it goes.

this is not a good choice for a DVR expansion drive. You should look for a drive rated for 24/7 use. This is also pretty loud from what I've heard.

actually you can put it in either Raid or normal....
