Petro's ripping on LJ, Mr. Fire Me Boy!. He also said that LJ sits by himself on the sidelines (not with his offensive teammates) and the only person who goes to sit with him is Bowe. Petro is vehemently expressing concern that LJ will poison Bowe's attitude and turn him into a helmet throwing loser pouter.

bowe's attitude is going to go down that route anyway. Wideouts want the ball everytime and he bowe exhoods confidence. A couple years in the league there will be games were he throws a pity party because he doesn't get the ball.

I can't say I'm thrilled about Bowe sitting with LJ either.

There was a caller on 610 who is known by the sportscasters to have a very reliable source on the team who says LJ is "the most hated man in the KC locker room."

Obviously, hearsay, but interesting. Especially since the broadcaster admitted the caller had a very good source. Maybe more than "I heard from a friend, who has a sister, who dates the cousin of a guy who knows..."

Larry has always been grumpy. I don't think it will rub off on Bowe. Bowe is Bowe. Go check out the youtube vid of him when they were filming the rookie card shoot. A caller just made a point that LJ spiked the ball in the 4th as an expression of disgust directed toward the o-line. Unfortunately, LJ is making a habit of whiffing in pass protection risking the life of our awesome quarterback, so he doesn't have the "right" to be upset at the line's blocking.

I guess I'm sort of old school about these kinds of things, Ms. ChiefsGirl. The way I see it, if your teammate just set the all-time touchdown record for tight-ends, you should run your ass out there and give him a high-five or some decent reefer or something.

Dude, Petro is the biggest Chiefs apoligist on the local radio. As a matter of fact he's on the Chiefs payroll.SO if that is true, with all of the dissapointment with the Chiefs in KC this year there is no chance his ratings were dropping? Maybe he is just saying things to stir the pot?

Most of this board talks about how horrible 810 is until something is said that they like - then it is the gosple.

I don't think it's really stirring the pot. I think that he may just be pointing out some of the personality flaws with LJ; that could have an adverse affect on this team.

When things are going well, for him, he's probably a good guy. When things aren't going well, he's a farking baby. He can't be happy for anyone other than himself.

This is why Herm is a good coach for KC...

Players respect Herm, and Herm can control the locker room so IF LJ is being the bitch people are accusing him of being, he can kind of smooth things over to the point of: "Let me worry about him, you all just do your job and stay positive..." kind of thing.

Seriously, LJ can be all about himself all he wants as long as he's running for 4 YPC and 100 YPG...

Besides, LJ is still saying all of the right things to the media when he does talk to them, which is somewhat surprising, and it still leads me to believe that LJ does care about winning.

Nope.

But, I'm not going to go off and proclaim anything pro or con LJ just because a known sportscaster with an apparent axe to grind says something.

People around here jump on any little rumor and blow it into a conflagration . . and when it turns out they were wrong, they convienently ignore it and move on to the next subject to blow out of proportion.

Remember, truth doesn't matter, only what we WANT to believe is the truth matters.

This is where KK has rubbed off on Petro. Whitlock must have rubbed off on KK. To much rubbing off going on, that's for sure

KK had an axe to grind with Carl Peterson before he ever had a radio program so I don't think it had anything to do with Whitlock. In fact, it comes at least partly from a situation when he says Carl Peterson tried to get him fired from his job with one of the local TV stations. I forget what Carl was upset about at the time, but I'm sure that according to KK it was something that puts KK in a good light and makes CP seem like a petulant ogre.

See, there again, people on this board *(the in crowd)* have declared LJ a bad apple, therefore he must be a bad apple.

There's no other explanation that can be accepted.

Period.

There's no doubt LJ isn't playing like I'd like him to, nor is the OL, nor is the QB nor our our CBs. I'm pretty disappointed in the team at large this year.

But, by all means, enjoy your (the collective your, not you specifically, FAX) speculations and your ability to read player's minds and know their motivation with 100% accuracy. It's obvious some people here are able to know what motivates a player or why they may have missed a block or dropped a pass or whatever.

Can you imagine the uproar there would be if LJ just showed up, picked up his paycheck, and smiled while walking out the door, win or lose? It's a shame that the mans passion for winning is considered bad behavior. Maybe if more players on the team had the same fire in their collective ass, this team might actually be good. But no, it's more fun to make up shit about LJ, because the fact of the matter is, some people are gonna hate him regardless of what he does.

FAX

I think it's the other way around. I think Bowe is going to be a big help in adjusting LJ's attitude. Did anyone see how Bowe was the first guy in LJ's face after his first big run? I liked that. He was barking at LJ and I think that's the kind of energy the offense needs.

IMO, Bowe is going to be a big influence on the overall energy and confidence of the offense.

Anyway, maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see how it can be considered representative of one's competitive fire to fail to congratulate a fellow teammate on a record-setting play. What would LJ do if there was no one to hold him up by the ass while he makes his little signature diamond shadow hand puppet thing?

Great post!

On topic- I never get to hear the local radio being that I live in St. Louis and tend to drive back following the games. Today was the exception and I heard this rant as I was heading down 70. I loved the comments he made comparing Brian Waters and LJ. I also loved his comments about how after LJ signed he came out and said how he was ready to step up and be a team leader. Well, then be a friggen leader.

I keep hoping LJ proves me wrong as I was a proponent of trading him rather than paying him for a long term deal. Actually, in truth I hoped for a one or two year deal with a minimal (for his caliber) salary and a big signing bonus. He did deserve to get some kind of monetary recompense for what he did for us last year, perhaps a career killing season.
