Now tied for the league lead with 8 sacks. Has anyone had that many sacks this early in the season for us since DT?

good question, I don't know. Maybe that year Eric Hicks had 14 sacks????? dunno. but anyways

Peterson has already said if he doesn't get a deal done he's going to tag him.

Still played. 5 Games and the best defensive player, give him a break.

He had a great game, no doubt, but it would nice if some other guys get sacks when he is double teamed or doesn't get there. He can't throw the ball and catch it, and get every sack. Can he?

Well, he had a sack in the third quarter and a tackle 22 yards downfield. How many sacks do you want from him?

He also drew a critical hold from Gallery. I don't recall whether that was in the 1st or 2nd half.

The best assurance of Allen getting the sack title this year is our secondary.

Our secondary's coverage at times is nothing short of phenomenal. Most of Allen's sacks have come after the QB's had time to scan the field. Nothing's there oftentimes, and Allen eventually gets free.

Where the **** is Hali this year? Seriously.

He probably got tired in the second half. He was fighting through double teams all first half.

He not only had all of todays sacks, he also led the team in tackles...now THATS a stat, its not very often that a D lineman leads that category.

This guy has moved to the next level.

Allen is the best Defensive player this franchise has had since DT.
I mused that in this week's column. I don't know if he's as fast getting to the QB but I know he's a more complete player. He made a lot of impressive plays today that will never show up in a boxscore too.

i have been underwelmed with hali. Is he even serviveable? If he is hurt i wouldn't mind seeing wilkerson over there. With JA comanding so much attention the other DE has to be able to do something

Allen isn't the pass rushing freak of nature that Thomas was, but there is no comparison between the two in terms of being an All-around player.

Every Chiefs fan who remembers the '93 AFC Championship game will remember two words:

The (coverage sack) I believe you're thinking of happened because HALI recognized a screen pass and flew out to cover him. Culpepper faked to look downfield and then quickly checked over at the running back and saw Hali sitting there... That's when he felt Jared Allen drapped on his back. So, uhh... Hali is getting some work done.

I was telling people last year that Jared Allen was the most valuable player on our team, not Larry Johnson...and that was BEFORE Allen stopped drinking...now he's just a friggin' force out there...might SERIOUSLY be the best defensive end in football...not bad for a long snapper!

Peterson has already said if he doesn't get a deal done he's going to tag him.

No worries.


I was thinking about that yesterday. If Allen keeps playing at this level it could be possible for someone to pony up the two first rounders and take him.
