My bigger question is how stuff like this gets produced.

First, some guy conceives of the concept. Okay, that's bad, but I can see the West Side Story comparisons. I don't blame this person.

Second, they take it to some producer, and he agrees to fund it. I blame this person moderately. There's nothing better out there? Really?

Third, some guy writes it and puts the scene together. This person should get a lot of the blame. I recognize that he's just trying to make a living, but jeez, try to do it with some honor.

Fourth, some guy directs this. Death penalty for this person. The buck stops here.

Fifth, the actors participate. They should be ashamed, and they will be if they ever make it big, but I recognize that for most of them the choice is this or waiting tables, and this theoretically provides better long-term opportunities, as long as future casting agents only see the resume and not the film.

Sixth, some person edited it and left this scene in. Like the writer, I blame them somewhat but recognize that they're probably just following orders.

Seventh, some person puts on youtube and then chiefsplanet. I blame these people a lot, too.

And you think you are innocent in this whole thing?

What about the guy that writes about and sheds light on all the people and their wrong doings...

It could have faded into oblivion but you are bringing it to more people.

You are #8.

I loved that movie when I was little.. Watched it a couple months ago and changed the channel quickly over how bad it was..

FYI I was talking about the Witch movie..

After seeing the first movie, wow a gayer version of West side Story..

Man, when I was a kid, I thought that girl from Teen Witch was pretty much the best looking girl on the planet. She's cute, but I can't believe that somebody actually made that movie. :SHUDDER:

As an initial caveat to this comment, I'm listening to Springsteen, so I watched this without any sound.

I had a sudden epiphany when I watched this. Some dude who's really into drama and dancing would look at something like this, and to some extent it's a kind of an ideal world for him. Guys are hanging out, and instead of talking about cars or girls or football, they're talking about dance moves and practicing them without shame or ridicule. And despite being effeminate, they can do this while still being considered as tough and kind of scary, which like it or not is often seen as the epitome of manhood.

Now think about who's probably writing this stuff. It's likely a guy for whom dancing and ... those fashions ... is kind of cool. He's projecting his own opinions onto the mythical society in which those characters live, and voila! You end up with a scene where three street toughs are dancing in the street and it's presented as if everything would think they're really cool.
