View Full Version : How much would YOU pay?

ZepSinger

So here's the hypothesis- our beloved Chiefs actually make it to the Super Bowl. Only hell or high water will keep you from going to the game. Of course, no tickets are available, except those in the possession of a scalper. As luck would have it, he has 2 tickets on the 50 yard line- I mean, these seats are fantastic.

In this highly unlikely scenario, how much would you pay for those two tickets? Serious offers only, none of this 'I'd pay 10 million dollars!!!' nonsense.

Discuss financially.

Not much...I could take the extra $$$ and throw one hell of a party. Maybe buy an HD flat screen. Money much better spent.

I have been to the Super Bowl once, New England and Carolina in Houston. While it was great fun, it is the worst place to actually "watch" a game. Can not beat a big screen with a small group of friends.

I may be going to the Super Bowl in Arizona this year as well.

Wouldn't go. I've been to a Super Bowl and the actual game is much better on TV. I would be surrounded by business executives and not Chiefs fans. Just not going to be an enjoyable experience as being with my fellow Chief fans.

I'd rather be at a gathering of Chiefs fans drinking a cold one and eating BBQ.

I'd consider somewhere up to $1500 per seat...especially if we had a decent shot to win it all. Probably not though; I'd just rationalize watching on TV.

Not a penny. Games are much more enjoyable on TV than they are in person.

Totally agree. The money it would cost for the trip (gas, lodging. food, tickets, etc.) would buy you pretty much the biggest and best HD flat screen money could buy, which you could enjoy for a loooong time to come.

I'm with the guys who wouldn't pay anything. Football's a better TV sport.

Ask me about on-the-glass tickets to the Stanley Cup finals and I'll pay you some money.

unless the game is at arrowhead (the best pure football experience my money will ever buy), nothing. I kick it at home and watch with a small group of friends.

I'm with you.

I spent a decent amount to see the clinching World Series game in 06, but would pay big money to see my team play in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. There's nothing more exciting in sports, IMO.

I wouldn't. There's something magical about watching the game on TV. If we made it to subsequent Super Bowls, perhaps. But that first time, I want to be watching it on TV.

Now, if we host an AFC Championship game, that's different. I'll be there no matter the cost.

I'd just flip out my badge and say "how much are those again?"

as we all know scalping is illegal ;)

the only reason to go to the super bowl is to see all the stuff before the game.

The Superbowl wouldn't have the electric Arrowhead crowd.

Although, it'd be amazing to be able to say you were there, it wouldn't be quite the same.

Plus at home, I could bawl like a baby without all the humiliation. (win or loss, :D)

I'd sell the tickets and use the money on booze and strippers. Then I'd waste the rest.

Not that I've really been watching it much this year; just too damn frustrating......

What the hell would you need 4K in 1992 for?

My mom and dad got great seats for that game for $200 a piece. Huge Redskins fans.

When you go to something like that you also have to go party in S.D lol I would have made it a nice long weekend.

Also, i think it was like 1997 or something. I know it was after i graduated HS and that was in 1995. I also had 0 idea how much tickets would cost to a Superbowl. I know i would have paid quite a bit to go see them, even if i had to go by myself. heh

I'd pay $300 a seat, I guess. I know I'd be at home based on those numbers. I love Arrowhead and I love tailgating but it's tough dedicating an entire day out of your weekend to doing it, especially when your wife isn't really into it. If she enjoyed tailgating as much as I do, it would be great quality time. But since she doesn't it's just valuable time away from family and that's not very high on my priority list at this point in my life.
